IH-526Lod - 19oz Left-Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Type III - Indigo Overdyed Black
-
I just bought one these guys! One of the last two remaining from what the site said. It will be my first IH type III. I've been wearing an ill fitting Levis for a few years now, so this will be a nice change. If only the goddamn weather weren't 90*F and about 100% humidity right now! I wanted to make sure I had it for fall and was afraid of it selling out before then. I think I made the right choice And to solidify my decision, the only size left was what I needed. It was fate, right? Haha.

Thanks!! Will do

Okay, I was able to collect the jacket from UPS yesterday morning. I've worn it around the house at least a few hours or more so far (…it's 80+F outside right now ). The sleeves have already started to soften up a bit. I got the measurements about perfect. Couldn't have hoped for better! With a T-shirt, it feels and looks good, but I still have enough room to fit a hoodie under it for the winter, when needed. The body and sleeve length are perfect for me. I usually have trouble with those measurements in most things due to my height (6'2") and weight (145lbs). This is my first piece of 19 ounce denim and I am really digging it! My first overdye too. Also awesome. For me, I really wanted the overdyed because I couldn't decide between black or indigo.. I wear superblack jeans to work and indigo when not at work usually, so ideally I would've grabbed one of each, but with that out of the question, I figured OD would slightly check both boxes. The goal being to not look funky with either color of jeans. I'll have to get my wife to take a photo to see the fit. I figure she will make fun of me though, so I haven't yet.

^ sounds like the perfect solution buddy [emoji2]

Enjoy the OD trucker perfection!
I guess the OD kind of goes with everything. Well at least I wear it with indigo, black and all my jeans/pants.

Great review. IH overdyed is very versatile for sure. As for getting your wife to take snaps, yes she will mock you and think you’re weird, but she’ll think it’s cute too. We’ve all been there [emoji1] (btw, there’s a forum photography tips thread you can search up that gives you advice on workarounds for that issue [emoji6]).

I had my almost 7 year old daughter take these photos
This was an XL. I am 6'2" and about 146lbs usually. It feels fine with a T shirt with enough room to fit a hooded sweatshirt underneath. The jeans are 463s with my slippers hehe. And a beat up, old school Red Moon wallet (new one on the way!!). After a couple days, the combs in the arms are already setting. I LOVE this jacket!

I just got this jacket and it's just flippin' amazing! And I say that as a man who owns more type IIIs than I'd like to count. I was so close to not pulling the trigger on it on account of the ludicrous number of type IIIs that I own but the measurements were right in all of the right places.
The 526Lod seems to be a little slimmer than all of my other type IIIs, which is great! I usually have to use the second button on the back of type IIIs so that they don't balloon in the back, but this one fits amazingly well on the first button! First time that's ever happened. The sleeves and the chest all fit wonderfully over a t-shirt, which was my intended fit. The sleeves are sometimes bordering on too-long on some of these but this one fits so perfectly, the length is spot-on. I swear that this feels like a jacket tailored just to me, which makes me think it must fit the rest of you dreadfully
Pockets! The side pockets are so practical, and they form internal pockets! And, the OD…I adore the OD! I don't know if it's the OD process that does it, but my 18oz CPO shirt does this thing where it sounds like a creaky boat when I move my arms in a certain way, I'm happy to say that this jacket is also a creaky boat For your listening pleasure, here's a link to an audio recording I made of the fabric "creaking" as I moved my arm:

And a pic!
Love this jacket!

Looks great on you @Paul9221
Are those the 816 grey whipcords you're wearing as well?

Thanks! Yessir, they sure are! I picked up the last 33, I think. Such amazing pants! Do you have a pair?
I was THIS close to picking up the IH-816 in olive the second that I tried these on but then I learned of the IH-720 olive that's due to come out in fall/winter of this year. Now I'm holding out for that.

I love the creaky boat description. This thing has a lot of sonic qualities that really augment the already-sartorially-awesome-ness of this jacket. I kept feeling vibrations like my cellphone was vibrating when I moved my arms, so I quit putting my phone in the pocket because I was constantly needing to check it. Also, there's a cool drum-like quality when it is "flicked", probably due to the tension in the weave. Oh, it's also easily the best jackets I've ever put on (I love my IHJ-46 and IH-526J, but this one is really special). If there were a 777 in 19 oz OD, I'd be all over it.

I do own a pair, as well as a pair of the olive whipcords. Great pants indeed. They look good on you.

Haha, yes! I was just doing that flick test yesterday! Flicking the material sounded to me like flicking a really thick stack of papers or notepad.

I have a feeling those creaky boat noises will leads to epic fades one day…
