IH-526Lod - 19oz Left-Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Type III - Indigo Overdyed Black
-
I love PBJ , PBJ weaving is little loose and that’s why it feels light or not as rugged as IH. PBJ fades differently compare to IH. I love
Both brands !
I have PBJ 18oz jacket and IH -72 18oz , yes the difference is there in weight and feel. -
Worth remembering that the the denim weight expressed in ounces is only a measure of the weight of one square yard of fabric. It doesn’t take into account the mass of the denim used in a pair of jeans, nor the hardware and stitching. Felled seams, buttons, metres of poly cotton all add to the weight. The difference between brands hardware and how fabric they sew into seams may affect the weight of an individual piece, although I’m sure that is negligible.

Great looking jacket. I am new to iron heart, i have been browsing through the forum, lots of great people here. I would like to ask if i may for some advice. I am on the market for a jacket and i am looking st the 526j-22od and the 526lod. I know the first is 22oz and the second 19oz. Any other differences between the 2?
-
19oz is a left hand weave. But other can give you more insight.
Can’t go wrong with either. Or double the fun and get both.

Lol! Thank you. I just checked and the 22oz is out on my size. Now i am tore up between the xxxl and the xxxxl on the 19oz. Both sizes look like they will work.

Depends what you plan on wearing under it. IMHO type III’s look better as fitted as you can go with normal functions. Sizing up makes sleeves and body longer.
But sometimes there’s discrepancies within each size, not by much but if you talk the crew they will steer you right.
And welcome or sorry for this lifelong addiction.

Well. The xxxl will be very fitted based on the sizing chart. The only thing i will be able to wear under it will be a light shirt or a tshirt. The xxxxl looks perfect everywhere but the sleeves will be about 0.5 on an inch too long.
-
Ah the dreaded long sleeves for us husky folks. I have an xxxl and a xxxxl for layering. Overkill, but that’s the name of the game with IH. Haha.
Now it just sounds like a personal choice.

Unfortunately yes. The xxxxl is really the correct size if i want to wear something besides a tshirt under and be able to move my arms freely. P2p is spot on the xxxxl so i think i need to go with that.

@yannis I don't know if hand wamers are an issue for you. For me, they are a dealbreaker. I have an xxl and could've gotten away with a xxxl but I opted for the smaller size because I will be mainly wearing it with a t-shirt. For IH jackets, I'd say normally size up.
-
I dont have a preference. Does the jacket has hand warmers? I am afraid that the xxxl will be too small. My actual chest measurement is 48 inches, so i am thinking i need a p2p around 25. I maybe wrong. This will be my first denim jacket so not really sure.
-
The 19 oz has them the 220z doesn't. I find I use them all the time. It's a personal thing, though.
Also, measure the jackets you have. That will give you a better sizing idea.

Thank you so much. My jackets are 25.2 inches p2p and fit kinda snug. I do like a fitted look. I recently bought the ih-888s-od pants in size 36 and love them. What is a left twill? I am clueless obviously. Also is the jacket pretty soft? I was surprised of how soft the pants were, considering the 21oz weight.

There is a primer on the difference between the twills.
As for being soft, this denim will be soft one day (ask @neph93 about the 'tour jacket') but it is rather stiff when you first get it. I'm still breaking in mine and it is getting softer but it's still rather stiff at the moment.

This is also good, obvi.
