IHB-08 - Heavy Duty "Tochigi" Leather Belt with Nickel Plated Garrison Buckle
-
These belts are perfection.
-
…trimmed it down so I'm in the middle hole! Rock&Roll!
-
Customing fitting those belts is a satisfying little job. Looks good @vaquero357

For the tochigi belts, what would be the recco for someone like me wearing pants with a 35.5IN waist? I'm on the tail end of a large and the front end of an XL (I also have problem finding japanese pants too…but I digress...)
I'm about there. I would recommend going XL and cutting it as per the numerous videos's and instructions on the relevant threads.
You'll be able to wear the L but may find it annoying only being able to use the first two holes.
-
Yup what he said. Go larger and trim it down

Hey all! I noticed that my IHB-08 has a bit of a "patina" from a lotta wear (read: heavy sweating in XHS while walking the hills of San Francisco). Any suggestions as to how I might shine this up?
-
You're right, @Giles. That photo didn't work out too well. More visible here?
-
You could try polishing with a super-fine abrasive like a silver polishing cream/liquid, we use "Silvo" in the UK. But be aware that the nickel is a coating on a base substrate of brass, if you get too enthusiastic, you may expose the brass.
Personally, I would live with it, but then I'm a slob….

Hahahah I'll just opt for this. I'd rather that it looks worn than I go overboard and f$%k it up. Thanks!

I have access to a glass blasting machine at work, I've given the metal bits of the belt a treatment with the glass blaster, giving it a satin matte finish.

I should add, that it also removed the patina on my belt during the process. I too wasn't a fan of the look.

Hahahah – thank you for further reinforcing my decision to leave the belt alone, @BULLITT BEE!
