@torleif congrats on scoring one of them! I also preordered the black one. This is not a new leather and Langlitz has been using it for a very long time. I have a Langlitz jacket made out of the black goatskin. It's very comfortable brand new. It's light, but not too light, and easy to move around in.
The leather used is a tan leather. You will not see a drastic color change like you would with veg tan leather. It will pretty much stay the same color like any dyed leather, white, brown, etc.

@Danimal506
I just got this hat and am thinking about trying to shrink it down a bit. Would you say the hat shrank in height? The crown is definitely higher than my other SJ hats. -
@Palmer Yes the crown shrank down. If you have one of their waxed hats, it almost fits closer to that after a hot soaking.
The leather patch also shrank a tiny bit. Just for a heads up.
-
@GraemeE I was curious what it would look like without the patch. I like it!
-
@Danimal506 I kept it just in case I want to sew it back on after I abuse the indigo off the fabric after a few months
-
@GraemeE Good idea!
-
@atm23 Thanks! And congrats to you too
I was hoping it would get a little darker, maybe if I use some leather wax.
Pros and cons compared to veg tanned leather. This will be more weather resistant on the cost of patina.
I noticed a design change, the hand pockets are now on the inside instead of the outside. Interesting. -
@torleif yes the pocket design is something Langlitz came up with.
-
@Danimal506 Looks awesome dude!
-
@atm23 Nice How do you feel about the change? Tones down the roughness a little bit.
-
@Mister_Brue Thanks
-
Did anyone get the new Sashiko shirt? Would love to see some pics out in the wild.
-
I did, haven’t really worn it since picking it up - too hot. Looks like my Wills should arrive in the next couple days, exactly a year before it’s original ETA.
-
Anyone have the Hawkins Gloves?

I’ve been wearing my sashiko hat as much as possible (outside of work because work would destroy it). Starting to see a little bit of fading on the back
