IH-526PJ - 21oz Selvedge Denim Modified Type III Jacket - Indigo
-
@JimBobTTD Great news. As a fellow Brit living in Scandi-land I understand the need for flexibilty and warmth in your outerwear. After my first type III I came to the decision that the way forward was multiple jackets. Watch out for that
When it comes to sleeve length, unless you have long arms yourself then a bit of excess at the wrist is the norm. It’s an often repeated point but Haraki-San prefers longer arms on jackets so that they still cover the wrists when arms are stretched out from the body. This is the position of a motorcycle rider when holding the handlebars of the bike.
I flip the cuff of nearly all my IH jackets.
@neph93 you are right, arm length gets mentioned a lot, by me also. I'd love to take a straw poll of just how many IH customers ride motorbikes compared to those that don't. The practical intentions of this clothing has been outshadowed by the quality and aesthetic that it's loyal customers love, I'd fancy!

In Japan, pretty much all of them. Rest of the world less so. But that isn’t the point, the point is the designer wants them that way. And as you say, the T-Rex’s amongst us generally find that the plus points with IH gear far outweigh an inch too much on the sleeves.
Also @Alex has gorilla arms [emoji1]

This ^^^^
I love love love the longer sleeve length on IH tees. I'm a bit on the gorilla arm side so it works…plus it's much easier to get away with a shirt that has longer sleeve lengths than too short. Nothing worse than sleeves that are too short.

Fit pics!
I shall take it out on a spin on the hog* this morning.
Not really. It's a 49cc moped.

Dude, that's awesome! Now imagine how cool it'll be when gets to where those jeans are now!

Thanks! The jeans have had four years of wear on them, so this will take some time!

I have and love the 526J but I've grown to adore those side pockets in my double duck 526 and the Lod. As someone who has his pants pockets stuffed, I've really come to rely on these jacket pockets to store my keys when I don't have my belted key clip with me. I think I'm going to pick one of these up when the restock hits.

Have you checked Rivet and Hide? Not sure if they have your size but they do carry it

You know, SE has it, but it's a little less expensive if I get it from IHUK, and I can wait until October. Plus the IHUK crew is amazing about measurements! If November rolls around and it's still not restocked at IHUK, I'll probably pick it up from SE.

Forgot that SE has this. I've debated between the 21oz over the 14oz and still can't decide.

I was thinking of the 14oz as well but as a short-armed broad dude, the measurements on the 21oz work a lot better for me. The sleeves are almost an inch longer on the 14oz.
I was thinking about it some more and I think I might end up picking the jacket up locally. I might make this the excuse to finally visit the Los Angeles store. It's about 30 minutes from my work, but it'll be neat to see. I've been eyeing one of those Good Art Hollywood rings, too…

By LA standards, isn't 30 minutes considered basically next door?
SELA is worth the visit, by the way. It's their largest store (I think) and has lots of fun stuff to check out.
