@jstark great example of how a soak can nail the fit. The length of the body and arms post soak give a classic type II look.
The thing about Haraki-san and his versions of the classics is, he seems to nail the timeless aspect. They never stray too far from the OG design DNA, but they never come up hokey vintage either.
Also I dig your wallet.
Yep, totally agree. Thanks re: wallet. Check out The Blackacre on Instagram (this one done with/for Snake Oil Provisions).

The amount of shrink you got on this is perfect, especially in the sleeves and body length.
This makes me think the water I'm using to hot soak isn't hot enough. I gotta see about turning up the temp on our water heater
Thanks, yeah I didn't get much out of a conservative cold soak. I didn't do too hot, but warm for about 90 min maybe?

A bit of the high traffic areas getting some tonal changes.

Based on the size chart, i think im between M and L. I know it's going to shrink after the first soak, but do they stretch out after wearing?
thank you
Hi there.
They won’t stretch out like jeans do, no.
Stretching occurs proportionally to the length of the piece of fabric when that is put under tension. This is why a waistband can stretch out so much, it’s one the longest single pieces of fabric that is put under the most pressure. The other long piece of fabric is the leg. That doesn’t stretch because it isn’t put under tension.
If you think about a jacket, the shoulders, elbows are put under a little bit of lateral tension where there isn’t much fabric to stretch. The vertical measurements if the jacket in the sleeves and body will shrink but not stretch.

I see, thanks for the explanation. I'm only asking because M after washing might be too snugged for me so I was wondering if I can stretch it out a bit. I guess it really depends on how I want it to fit, M( no layering) and L (room for layering)

Hey long time voyeur here, thought I'd give a little back, it being Thanksgiving and all (here anyway)…
This was slightly box and a little longish on me. Took a 38 (which fits great in the LHT type 3). I'm 5'11", 165. Actually looking back, I think I'd have been just fine breaking it in without a soak. But decided to see if I couldn't get a little shrink out of it and set some creases. First cold soak didn't do much, so I gave it a hot soak and air dried, then wore it damp. An it's pretty perfect. Really super dig this jacket. Right in the wheelhouse of maintaining a classic type 2 vibe but without the boxiness on one hand and the complete redesign so many brands, i.e PBJ are doing. The denim is fantastic. Here's some before soak and after. Yes at a gas station for the latter. Had about 40 gallons to kill.PRE:

Hope that helps, folks!
Looks great! Shabbat shalom, motherf*ckers!

Lol random but שבת שלום to you too.
Who got the shrink-test specimen off the outlet, someone here?

Continual wear every day. Getting some lovely contrast on those heavy wear areas. Minimal visibility in photos at the moment.
