IHM-27-BLK - Sateen M-65 Field Jacket - Black

Has this jacket ever been made in a different kind of cotton fabric (other than the oiled version)? Just asking out of curiosity because I got a M65 some years ago at a retailer and the fabric looks slightly different than the pictures, almost like a plain weave. I may be mistaken of course.

Yes, different types of fabric over the years…

Got mine yesterday from the long awaited restock, great jacket. Shoulders do seem slightly confined, I got this to wear over shirts, the length covers the tails of the shirt showing. Anyone else find that when wearing an IH western under an IH jacket the shoulder seams line and up and dig into your shoulder? I get the same with the N1 as well.

Finally got my first piece of IH outerwear and I am totally pleased. I sized down from my usual large and the fit is perfect (thanks @neph93 ). The sateen is substantial feeling and beautiful. This jacket will get tons of wear where I live. Really just love it!
Can I ask your height and weight, sir?

Exceptionally happy with my newest purchase.
Never experienced a fabric that is so understated yet uniquely special at the same time…
Was on the fence about getting a size L, but at 182cm and 78kg it feels like it was built for me as an outer layer. Looking forward to slipping a UHF underneath it as it gets colder here in the UK.

Well said. It really is quite stunning. IH had a black chino fabric they used on tanker jackets a few years back that had similar qualities. Utilitarian but luxurious.
I never expected to fall so far down the IH rabbit hole when I bought my first denim shirt earlier this year, but now I want to experience everything that's on offer. [emoji1374]

@T4920 So sorry I’m just now seeing your post. Happy you got the sizing right! For the record, I’m 5’9”, 163 lbs. 41” chest. Killer jacket…totally agree about the fabric. Enjoy!
No worries man. Looks like you nailed the sizing too!
Looking forward to putting it through the ringer in years to come [emoji1688]

Been a while since I posted something here.
I allways wanted one of these in black, because the green one combined with military green cargos or a military green shirt ist just to much military green for civilian life for my taste.
Strangely my wife said: "Well, if one is available, why don't you get one?" and who am I to argue with my wife.
With 16° C here today, it was allmost to warm to wear this along with an UHF.

@Kasi looks cool!
