@jothishan:
Is this one good for cold weather conditions? Any ideas of wearing this one without layering and getting through the Western European winter?
I have one, live in the UK. Its a fucking great jacket.
It shits all over my RMC one.
I can heartily confirm that I have never used the hood.

Am I dreaming, or was there a thread there someone compared the two? The IH version and the Real McCoy

I tried finding the other day, but didn’t look in the obvious place. ::)

The "See Product in Shop" throws a 404 error. Will this be fixed once the product goes live tomorrow?

We were SO close…

Cheers mate. I happen to be a guy that loves a nice hood. Especially when conditions are wet…

Guys, so what is the conclusion! Is this Jacket suitable for western winter? With the IHSH- Wabash shirt underneath, can one withstand the cold temperatures between 1 and 5 °C? I know this is a subjective question, but just thought someone who already owns this would be able to share their experience!

Really can't help you. Don't have one and I live in country that has much colder winters than that. It doesn't have a thick insulating lining so my guess would be a "no", at least not with just a shirt under. That is only a guess though.

Apologies. My previous answer meant yes!
I wear mine often when I watch the rugby. I find the ventile to be very windproof and with an uhf underneath you should have no problems.

If, by those, you meant these:

Then, yes…

With the right layering underneath, this jacket is fine for a UK winter, barring the coldest temperatures. I wear mine with a merino wool jumper or a flannel and t-shirt and have no problems. The stand-up collar helps retain heat too.

I'd definitely say no, not suitable for winter wear. It's a heavy jacket, don't get me wrong, but at the end of the day it's just cotton. I'm not sure about the sizing on this version, as I own the very first iteration, but the armpit area is pretty snug and it's not too comfortable to layer anything crazy underneath.
It's a fantastic piece though, and living in Sweden I wear it from April throughout November and it has served me well for a number of years
