IHSH-218-BLK - 12oz Selvedge Denim Western Shirt "The Johnny Cash III" - Superblack

I agree with @neph93 on the medium. You’re basically the exact same size I am right now and a large would be too big (at least they are for me).

Mine will be coming on Monday! Excited to beat this shirt up through the fall and winter!

Holy smokes, I haven't logged on here since 2013! I am wearing the IHSH-218 in a size medium after a warm wash and it fits perfectly.
Welcome back… nice shirt too.

I've been searching for size XL for a long time and pulled the trigger when one become available on the RE-Loved page at a nice discount.
Something about this black denim is magical. Every time I look at different areas I notice something unique.
I'll be enjoying this one all winter long.

I have what may be a dumb question but I'm good with that. So I think I read somewhere at some point that the 218 was made using the SBG process, would the sulphur dyed warp yarns then produce a chemical smell or "that sulphur smell"? I received a 218 in the mail today and this bad boy stinks.

Received mine about a mnth ago from an IH stockist - hasn’t had the tag removed yet and no unusual smells.

That's bizarre. The 218 has never been made SBG. The point with the JC line is that they aresuperblack and won't fade. There was a SBG western many years ago however. The IHSH-08, I think. Generally IH SBG doesn't have a strong sulphur smell in my experience.

Yeah I'm not sure @neph93. When I put the shirt on, it was like standing in a cloud of chemical smell so I didn't keep it on for long. I could certainly be misremembering what I read though since it was a while ago and I couldn't find the post again to be sure of what I read. It was likely an old post, so you may be on to something in that it may have been about a different black shirt and I'm crossing them. Either way, I emailed the stockist and the owner who responded also said it was a superblack shirt so the odor was due to that process and that it would dissipate in time, so the shirt currently hanging out on a rod all by its lonesome. We'll see what happens.
Happy New Year
