IH-555S-18II - Indigo/Indigo 18oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim

Treat as raw, you will get about 1" shrinkage in the waist and the same in the inseam, the waist will stretch back out to pre-soak/wash size over time - so if they fit you as you like them pre-soak/wash, then that's your size
I am scared about thigh shrinkage. I guess it will be around 0,5 inch?

The measurements are the measurements, I have not compared them with other 555 cuts, if you have, and they are wider at the hem and/or thigh then they are wider at the hem and/or thigh. When the XHSib arrive, we will know what they measure, until then any second guessing will get me nowhere.

I understand that the 555 series has a bit of vanity sizing but these seem even larger than normal..??
…i'm just really hoping they stay true to the 555 silhouette....
No iteration of a cut is exactly the same as the benchmark version (normally 21oz) but the silhouettes are generally quite similar, as this is dependent on the ratios of the measurements, not the measurements themselves. Even then, fabric weight and construction, level of sanforisation and other factors will affect matters. For example very heavy weight denim (UHR, XHS) will often come up differently to lighter weight denim because the seams have to be thicker.
Looking at the ratios (size of waist compared to thigh, knee, hem for example), these pretty much follow the pattern of other 555 iterations when you take the amount of shrinkage expected into account. I suspect the variations are due of the expected shrinkage in the fabric and won't be very large. It's a 555 silhouette for sure, but you may wish to size down.
@Jordan23 judging by the info on the 666Sii thread, half an inch is the most you'll get.

After trying all 3 of the new models on yesterday I personally think they're bang on how the 555 should be. I didn't notice any significant difference in fit from the 555-01 or 03 (don't own the former).
Size down if necessary and as always, trust the measurements!
Lucky bugger. And great advice.

These seemed to move quickly. Was it a small run or might the amount of posting here be indicative of their popularity?

It's sad to see this is the last of the double indigo fabric
-
Glad I ordered then, @chubacca. How'd you hear that info?

It seems like there weren't many to begin with. I'm still undecided, hopefully my size lasts if I end up making up my mind.

Says so further up the thread.
The fabric was originally woven about four years ago and made into 666 and 634 cuts. H decided to use up the last of it on the Type II and the 555 which was originally a Giles developed cut that H has recently taken a shine too.

Thanks as always @neph93. I love the type II in this fabric. Glad I can make a uniform out of it.

My daughter put the hemmed section of my jeans to good use. Don't ask me what's she doing with them. It's a surprise. Something to do with hearts?
