I’m also a geocacher. This was a quick stop in Iowa on my way to MN. Ice cracked as I inched out but held long enough to sign the log.

Hey guys and girls of the IH forum. I'm Michael & new to IH jeans & somewhat new to raw denim (a few months). I know buying these right now is sort of like getting a face tattoo as your first tattoo, but I'm the type that goes deep when I get into a new hobby. I got my IH-555-XHSib's last thurs and I'd like some opinions based on my fit photos. Is the length look good? Does this fabric shrink a lot with just cold water? I feel like I can't afford much shrinkage but I am noticing its stretching out comfortably
My dog is lurking harder than I was before I made an acc for this forum lol

My thoughts on the jeans; I always glanced over people saying the buttons were difficult boy oh boy they took me 15 mins with pliers and I have no plans of unbuttoning the bottom button. The rise on this is perfect. The combination of the slimness AND the thickness require that much room I believe. Restrictive when sitting upright in a chair, but that's getting a lot better on my 3rd day of wear. At first I wasn't convinced it was actually indigo hahah. I can't wait to see this contrast. Although I'm not sure what the non-fading black weft entails.
In my state of VA we get a lot of humidity in the summer but I'll try to tough it out like the incredible Indonesians & their amazing fades. I work in a welding/fabrication shop so these are liable to get burn holes on the first day so they'll be evening and weekend pants. I might relegate my older denims to the shop in time.
I'm realizing my s8 isn't taking the greatest photos -

You will lose one inches in length at the most and some in the waist and tight put they will stretch back to post size.
What is u want

@majkel I echo what neph said, the fit looks good. They’ll soften up and mold themselves to your body a bit with wear and look even better. It takes a while, but it will happen.

No, I do partial soaks to stuff all the time. Use the hottest water possible and soak for as long as possible. For example I soaked mine for 5 hours and I changed the hot water 3 times to keep it hot.
