IH-666S-21L - 21oz LHT Selvedge Denim Slim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo

Yeah I've been thinking the stiffness will go away as soon as I wash em. Funnily they kinda remind me of APCs, which are right hand, but still have a stiffness and a sort of pronounced diagonal look when they're new, then go super soft after a wash. Not sure how others feel about APCs, but they've always been a fave of mine — soft and easy to achieve, nice looking vintage fades.

@PV/ATX:
Funny how people's impressions differ on these — I think they're a little less soft than the regular 21oz, and maybe a little less breathable, BUT… visually more interesting. I'm super excited to see how they fade. Mine have some super nice combs starting to form, albeit with no fading yet, but they're looking pretty pronounced and hopefully will age nicely.
Even though I think they're a little stiffer than the regular 21oz, they're still super comfortable. My fave IH I've owned so far.
agree that they're less soft then the signature 21oz RH denim out of the gate. In fact, they feel similar to my pronto cut which are the signature 21oz in an unwashed version.
i was also able to size down on these. loving the fit so far.

Hello @ Chesson and everyone first time ever posted on IH here. Got my new IH-666s-21L a few weeks ago and thanks to Chesson, got the right size for me. My first impression was not not soft as 666s-21 original one which I own too. But I feel much comfort now than when it was. Great fit to my legs but in personal opinion it's better if the hip roomier. Hopefully, It will eventually stretch out more later. I got size 32 and shorten 32 inseam. I am 5 feet and 7 inches tall, body weight 154 lbs and fit great.
After worn a few weeks, the only noticeable was the waist stretch out about .75 inch but other measures are pretty much as size charts. It doesn't stretch out at thighs and knees areas. This is my third pairs of jeans from IH and haven't soaked yet. kind of stiff and color is grayish rather than Indigo. I think after a soak will bring the indigo richer color and softer to wear. -

Hello and welcome.
Thanks for the write up on the jeans. The 666 top block tends to be fitted over the hips, the 634 less so and the 888 not at all. From the photo they look perfect. Good job.

After wearing about over a month, I decided to soak it in little warm water. Very satisfied with jeans that it shrink from knees to feet and the hem opening smaller from 8 inches to down 7.8 which I prefer. Also the inseams are shorten from 32 inches to just a little over 31. Almost nearly 1 inch shrink but looks better.
now much comfortable to wear and it just fit at everywhere and looking great jeans. Didn't see the dye turn the water indigo color. Soaked about 30 mins and just gently shake to loosen any dirts but didn't rub. The color turned a little darker than before but not as dark as my other IH-666S-21. Amazing jeans from Iron Heart and the specs of measurement are incredibly correct as stated in the chart. It start showing some indigo but need more time show more patterns. It's not even break in yet, still stiff but it's a good way that showing dimension of the jeans and hips area finally stretch out for comfort and better look. -
Thank you neph93. Appreciate you words.

Yeah that’s a perfect 666 fit for sure.

Has anyone hot washed the 21L fabric before? Curious how much shrinkage I'd get… I've lost a little weight and wouldn't mind if my pair fit a little snugger, but I don't wanna lose too much length or move the position of my creasing.
Probably should just cold wash like normal and leave em' be. They're not that big...

It has been sanforised, treated to an anti-skewing process and washed once, industrially. You could probably boil them and it won’t shrink past what they were when you got them (before stretching out again).

Haha well that settles that!

Sorry if that came off as crass, it wasn't meant to be. But When H-san doesn't want things to shrink or skew he makes damn sure of it
Haha no worries at all! A definitive answer's much better than "eh maybe you can try _____"
Prob best to have a little bit of range in my IH fits, if I ever end up putting on a couple pounds again hehe
