Got these bad boys today. In a very hard to find US 12.
A cool story behind it too. There used to be this sneaker market in my town that was held once or twice a year for a couple of years. I guess it was in the fall of 2008 that I tried this pair on at one of those occasions, a guy was selling them at his stall. I tried them on, liked how they looked and felt but at that time I decided not to buy them even though the price was right. Once or twice a year after that I've come to think of these and every time I kicked myself for not getting them that time. Never did any serious effort to find out who the seller was or how to get in touch with him….
Until this morning, when I once again was looking at cool pics of Visvim shoes, I decided to do a quick google and stumbled upon a really old sales thread in a forum where I found a pic of these and the guys email address.
I emailed him and asked if he still got them and the answer was yes. And so it happens that he lives two blocks from my house. What a happy day.

Way cool, jii. What splendid luck!

Gotta agree with Mike on this one; I'd sell those jeans, get most of your money back from a Vis fanboi and put the funds toward something more substantial.

Alright, here are my Virgil's. I really like how they look and they smell super nice, but I'm not sure if they are too long….
That's where my toe is. Thoughts? Never had a pair of boots so not exactly sure what to expect…

Naw, even though Union stocks vis their next restock was in a few months and I didn't want to wait that long haha. I am still on the fence about these, will have to think about it more…..they've def got me craving some boots though

u able to return them?
if so, maybe go a half size down (if they make any!)…
otherwise, if the fit is perfect in all the other dimensions, suck it up and wear an insole or some thicker socks.
that should improve the fit and your feelings of them being too long or not!other than that, they suit you (and your style) perfectly imo!

Where the ball of your foot is in the shoe is much more relevant than where your toe is. Different last shapes will result in different amounts of space; generally speaking, the more pointed the shape, the more excess toe space. However, the back half of the foot is more clearly determined.
The ball of your foot should be just forward of the arch, basically right where it looks like it should be. Flex your foot like this to check-
If your foot isn't lining up properly, you need to re-size.

Have to say i'm absolutely blown away by them. People often say Visvim gear is overpriced but I can't imagine how footwear can get any better. Fucking awesome! Anyone else got a pair? Thoughts?
