IH-555-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Jeans - Indigo

That's actually a nice thing about flying through Texas airports- they see metal in boots so often around here, the TSA folks don't even blink. But I've still been subjected to additional screening for IH shirts and jeans, though.

one of my favorite characteristics of this denim is how HAIRY it is!

So, I finally warm soaked mine with a squirt of MrBlacks denim wash. Result: They have softened beautifully and now truly feel custom made. I took the plunge, as I feared the early origins of honeycombing (100 wears) would be out of alignment round my knee if they shrunk in anyway. I was wrong, there was no movement in length whatsoever, just a reminder of how snug the waist was when I originally purchased. 3 swift wears later, the most comfortable and reassuring jeans I own… period!

Excellent photos. I’m keeping an eye out for the restock in size 31. Nice to see how they fit.

Excellent news. I may go up to a tag size 32 in these as the 555 21 oz version are slightly tight in the knees and thighs for me. I’ll give them a hand wash in cold or slightly lukewarm water (to protect the leather patch) and hopefully get most of the shrinkage out of the inside leg.

These jeans are true body armour. Got pulled by security, the x-ray machine at Frankfurt airport couldn’t penetrate my jeans.
This happened to me last summer wearing my 21oz 555s! Every single scanner there was an extra scan and pat down

A fellow Glaswegian! So there’s at least two of us who have exquisite taste in denim!

I went up to a size 32 as well! I had the same feeling about it being slight too snug in the thigh on the 21oz 555s. The 25oz fit incredibly well even though they are stiff to begin with.[with pics of course!]

They look excellent on you! I’m glad I went for a larger size. I like the extra room in the thighs and knees so now I finally know my size. Even after washing and shrinkage I think they’ll fit well once they stretch back out. Finally got the buttons to open and shut reasonably easy. I’ll give it a few weeks before I give them a gentle lukewarm hand wash. A truly fantastic pair of jeans. These are my fourth IH pair and are easily the best. I’ve got a pair of tag size 21oz IH-555-01 OD which are probably too small for me so I’ll try and eBay them and get another 32 tag size in the 21oz version.

Great stuff! I’ve never seen anyone wear a pair of Iron Hearts in Glasgow and that’s not just down to lockdown! At least there’s at least two of us

We don’t get much rain here but we got a solid half inch today (1.25cm+). Thought I’d let the heavies take a quick shower. First time I’ve ever had jeans stand on their own ???

Good morning everyone,
I have a pair of 555-01 tag 32 which I have worn for 7 months and maybe 2 soaks to wash them. The worn measurements are right now:
Waist 17.5
Front rise 10.5
Rear rise 16
Thigh 12.25
Knee 8
Hem 7They are still a bit tight in the thighs and knee area, the waist is fine but If I would buy them again I would buy them in tag size 33.
I am interests in either the 555-XHS and the 555-XHSib which are both 25oz. In both models, the measurements of the tag size 33 are bigger than my worn 555-01 which is fine since I need a little more room but I don't know what will happen after hot soak and stretch.
Any suggestion?

My pleasure! You may find that the size you currently have in the IH-555-01 works in XHS after all, but if you compare your worn jeans as they measure now, with the published measurements of XHS versions then you’ll be fine.
But my current model 555-01 with worn measurements is still a bit tight, should I go one size bigger on the XHS??
-
Sorry, I just meant that you should compare your worn 555-01 measurements to the XHS measurements and choose the right pair for you.
You may find that the smaller XHS are the right pair, because they may be slightly bigger than your current pair. It isn’t unusual for XHS versions to come up a little bigger.
