We dont run a skew process on any of our jeans….

Thanks for the feedback about the fit. It was reassuring and helped me to make my mind about about keeping them.
I've owned so many different Iron Heart jeans over the years. I've never quite got it right. I'm really hoping this time I'm onto a winner.
The fit is slightly more flattering on the 555 to other jeans I tried on recently (634, 666, 777), in my opinion, while avoiding being too 'skinny' and fashionable like some other brands.

They look great, GTB. I think you nailed the balance between comfort & a fitted silhouette

Loving the 555 XHS, now about a week in wearing every day they are getting more and more comfortable, but maybe I just need to put on some of my other denim to realize XHS is STIFF.
At any rate I am eyeing the XHSib, outside of the color does anyone have both XHS and XHSib that can tell me the feel and break-in differences? Any preferences from those that have both?
Would like to understand the overall differences besides that of appearance
Thank you! -

There are no essential differences as it is the same fabric. That is to say that the construction of the fabric and the way it behaves is identical. The hand is marginally different as both the warp and the weft is dyed on the XHSib. After that it is the aesthetic difference in colour and fading, although even the latter follows the same form and pattern on the standard XHS.

Thanks, that’s really good to know. It’s not easy to get that balance right.

I’m curious what to expect from this denim over time.
Does the denim soften with time? And to what degree does that happen? (Is it always stiff to some extent or will it be truly soft?)

It will always be heavy but the stiffness will go and they will become ridiculously pliable and soft. It is quite the transformation, however it does take time and happens incrementally. One day after half a year or more of regular wear you’ll put them in and realise they are soft and wonder when that happened.
-
That’s really crazy. I must admit, I found it hard to imagine them ever becoming soft. Your reply makes me excited about how they’ll evolve over time.
Not that I care too much about fading (I like the deep indigo colour), but presumably this denim fades relatively quickly with wear?
-
They certainly fade faster than 21oz although not as quickly as the UHR did. I would say that the areas that tend to be exposed to abrasion and friction fade very quickly, but the other areas cling to their indigo. The result tends to be high contrast. Here are an aging pair of 666-XHS:

Hiking in my Triple 5’s XHS, they are breaking in nicely live the shirt as well [emoji6]

killer shot, @a.aron ! beautiful view

@hoppy_IPA Thanks was a great sunset in the mountains! Finally some worthy weather for the 25oz!
-
Yesterday it was windy and dry in U.K
Brand new pair.
Hot soak them first and worm them damp, to set quite sharp creases in the front and behind the knees.
Like @neph93 says get it out of the way rather than later
Before I used to were them six months raw then soak, that a lot of crap bullshit. -
@Kasi you are the absolute 555 Pro !
-
…I love the 555's! I wear my 'cuts' for a full week and I rotate through my XHS-555's, XHS-634's and my XHS-888's weekly. I look forward to wearing them all every time I switch and I'm going to continue this routine until I'm confident which pair is going to get a buddy!
...the competition is pretty much between the 555's and 888's but as I say I love them all.
...the way forward for me now is 'try them on when the package shows up, measure if you so desire, toss them in the washer ( inside out! ), cool or warm temp, on delicate then toss them in the dryer and tumble for 20-30 minutes take out and hang dry the rest of the way. Measure for curiosities sake and knowledge when fully dry. And if I'm honest with myself that initial hour long soak in the the tub at your desired temperature is probably a wise move .

Pro thanks for that doesn’t comer easy been wearing Iron Heart over 8 years or so
I have worn 666, beatle buster, pronto’s 777 and 555
Still have mine pronto as a collection.
Winner fits for me are 555 my signature fit
Switch fit 777 fit…a change from 555 so I don’t get fed up wearing 555.25oz is only fabric l like to wear.
I haven’t brought any other brand... for a while
PBJ they have gone too mainstream... but still have their limited edition 24oz
Flat Head 20oz jeans feel like 25oz amazing. There are other brands out there, but last 15 years experiencing Japan clothing.
I would crown IRON HEART WINNER OF ALL TIME AND THE GREATEST..
I don’t know many fans out there are like me... Always buying Iron Heart more often.
I will rest my case now. -
I just started the journey last year….I think the Corona had something to do with it because I was home for months..and I came across IH.
The quality and attention to detail are what initially drew me in..but then when it came to customer service, there was nothing else that compared to Giles and the crew--and of course now it is becoming more clear that Alex is and has been doing a great job of taking IH into new territory.
Since the 666-21S was and till now still is the only cut ive tried...every time I see you or others wearing the 555s...im thinking I might try them in the future.
I try no to overthink any of this..I will keep my process as simple as possible---wear it hard and don't worry so much about the details
