@hoppy_IPA annoyingly, I didn't get a chance to take a photo, but I'm sure @Jcaz6996 will stick a couple of photos up for you to see

@hoppy_IPA Thanks bud appreciate that
Yeh sure thing I’ll take some pics .. -
So I used to be terrified of cuts called “super slim”, as I have big thighs and shyed away from them until I saw measurements of this 555. It is exactly what I am looking for as my bottom half legs aren’t as bulky as my top half. I usually wear the 634 or the 888 but wanted more of a taper down.
Waist is like .75” too big but I think a soak will get these just right:

@MassiveThighs hey brother man. Just my 2 cents, but that waist might be a touch too big. It will shrink a bit with a wash but it’s also going to stretch out again and then some.
My inclination would be to start with a waist that fits right about where you want it. Then after a wash it tightens up some then stretches back out with wear for a perfect fit.
That’s just my way of going about it. I like my jeans to fit nicely without the need for a belt. Even though I still wear a belt cause I like them.
-
@MassiveThighs Miz is right — I’d go a size down. They’ll definitely shrink but the waist will probably go right back to where it is now.
-
Ill try that thanks!

I'm on the same boat. I bought mine before months. Waist was perfect (and hips too tight), but now there's a thumb space. I listed it at sales area because I don't want to end up with a 400$ loose pair of jeans, but also wonder what will happen with a hot soak (2-3 hours in hottest tap water 70°C - 80°C) and a 60°C machine wash....
-
For what it’s worth @MassiveThighs i disagree with the majority here. I think that fit looks perfect through the seat and thighs, and a size down probably isn’t going to be comfortable. I have had sized down XHS and I didn’t wear them as much because the tight thighs and waist restricted my movement and made sitting down no fun. Just wear a belt and you’re on the way to comfiest jeans of your life with that fit!

@Mizmazzle @popvulture Great advice gentlemen!! @MassiveThighs In agreement! When sizing XHS, buy them to fit the waist the way you like as they will shrink with wash but stretch back out with wear. The only areas to be concerned with are the legs (thighs, calves, etc.). The area lost in shrinkage will just about be impossible to gain back.

Will front and back rise stretch back with wear?

@sabergirl I agree here and this is how I size my XHS. Especially with 555XHS you run the risk of tight fitting massively heavy 25oz. BUT to add I prefer to not size down and have XHS that are looser in the waist and I wear a belt. This is not what everyone (likely even most folks here) likes to do but having tried both ways, I now choose comfort every time. Just wanted to chime in and share this side with Anne here.
This also works well for me because I like to fade my XHS heavily and wear the same pair almost every day. I need them to be a little loose and comfortable.

Love the comments here and a great example of how fit is subjective! @MassiveThighs if I was advising how I would want them to fit, I would be inclined to say trying a size smaller would be the way to go. I want my XHS to fit spot on in the waist out of the bag. In recent times though, I have had to size my jeans with my thighs being the most important measurement and I am more than happy to wear a belt, which is something for you to consider of course if you have other important dimensions. You will get some stretch back in the rise with wear and sitting/squatting etc but the initial shrinkage with a careful wash shouldn't be too much in those areas anyway.
Your initial assessment "0.75" too big, a soak will get these right", to me would suggest you want a pair starting that 0.75" smaller in the waist from the get go.

First XHS for me, 555 cut, size 34. I am 184cm and 80 kg, with -a bit- wide hips. I bought it when I was 84 kg and was uncomfortable while sitting. Haven't soaked/washed yet. Waistband now sit comfortably on my belly (I need belt if will stretch more) and movement is not restricted . Not a super slim fit though... What do you think?

They feel comfortable. I think if I size down, everything will still be still good, except from the hips, they will be too tight. Other option is trying 888, size 33... Also I don't know how they will fit after soaking/washing them. My other 25oz pair is a Samurai S710. I sized up because it was unsanforized and unwashed. Perfect fit after washing them but everything -except length- stretched back and now they are a bit loose.
