IH-634-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo/Black

A rather recent development I’ve been privy too at work (healthcare-primarily women). Never considered myself a “hipster” and I’ve learned if you fall somewhere between Lumbergh and Patrick Bateman, you’re a “hipster.” Utterly binary. Haha. So in proper hipster fashion, just received my first Roys (perhaps a natural trajectory of moving from pedestrian to extremely heavy back to light) and IH says funk this hipster and his ways and throws up a sale. Haha. “Just when I thought I was out,….” In all seriousness, can’t wait to soak these and jump in. They make my SEXIH13s 23oz look/feel like 21oz.

Fwiw to those for measurements: 2 consecutive hot soaks for 1-2 hours ea. with subsequent light agitation. Really consistent shrinkage throughout fit. Congruent with others, .5" shrinkage on average throughout. For the first time experienced appreciable "white marks" (soaked inside out) and they essentially blended in with some rubbing with dry towel. No biggie.
First pair of raw selvedge I’ve hemmed. Always marveled at how well my 666 19Ls and the like fit and they happen to be a 34” inseam. This appears to really help with “knee break” and just a much better overall drape; took me awhile to get the courage to commit to a hem as I prefer a longer inseam/stacking and have a long inseam for 6’ height, however, with heavier weight the drape I’ve learned is exponentially better even going from 35.5” to 34” inseam. Wish I got all my jeans hemmed to 34”ish. And IMHO, the 634 fit is best represented via a slim fitting profile such as the 634 SEXIH13. Measurements on mine are almost identical for these to get an idea how they ‘ll fit.

Thanks, @neph93. Actually, I'm just a doc, so no hard challenges for my wear at work.
Not sure there has ever been «just a doc», but there certainly isn’t these days.
Physical labour or not, getting to wear jeans to work and using them all day is a great thing. Good luck with this pair, it is really wonderful denim.

I was working in Southern France and I felt like my jeans were full of coronavirus… so I gave into my OCD and washed them today. :c
I love the deep blue color of these when they are wet. The nice thing about working abroad is that we get a full-paid 14 day quarantine at home when we get back.

Good to hear from you @Filthy….. haven't seen you post in a long time hope all is well. Jean's look great too

Thanks. I'm alright. I've really been enjoying my jeans. I already regret washing them though. Hopefully they will look cool with a little fade shifting.

I know the feeling… big regret after having washed my IHJ-24 for the first time after a year's worth of wear... never felt the same since. I'm not against washing denim, but wish I'd waited for as long as possible, your post reminded me of this!

@BULLITT BEE I got a little bit of shift. But I think it will add even more character. The color of this denim is so awesome.

Could you elaborate what you mean by shift? Creases in a slight different location?
I agree, the color is lovely. They're going to look amazing with more evo!

After a wash, a fade shift occurs because of shrinkage and the new creases don't line up with the old ones correctly, or the get wider.
