IHJ-84-BLK - 12oz Selvedge Chino Type II Jacket – Black
-
Can you offer up a @Giles fit? Large? TIA.
-
I’d be grateful if you did give this a fit try, @Giles. Travel safely! Cheers.

It arrived. I'm in love….. just what i was hoping for. Light, but stiff. Black as hell and clean as hell in terms of lines, etc. No side cinches. This thing can be dressed up or down. And I'm loving the type 2 more and more ever since buying the ihj 72.
I'm thinking of doing a initial hot soak, any issues with that? My first IH chino.... so no experience with washing/soaking.
Crappy first pics of me in sweats and a tee. I'll do some proper ones tomorrow.

I'm tempted to walk the neighborhood like this. Honestly, the wife and kids are away, so i almost slept in the jacket last night. I feel like a kid at Christmas. I just haven't showered in a few days, so I didnt want to stink it up.
Dude, you look boss in the Piquie Blinder. Im like you, I have to make choices. I dont look as good with light tops, so it was never in the cards for me.
Im not sure i can buy another trucker jacket, but a lined one would be a must have for me.

This jacket looks outstanding on you @Yogi217 , congrats.
I’ve never owned or even tried on a type 2. Always wondered how it drapes when you have it buttoned up and sit, like riding a bike. Does the added stiffness from the lowered pockets cause it to bunch up between the chest and abdomen area?
There are several bike riders here… any experience on this with type IIs?

Here are some pics from today. They aren't the best, which is why i dont post pics…
I don't ride, so I cant specifically answer the question @motojobobo
For me, it bunches the same as a type 3 when sitting. I usually leave the bottom two buttons undone.
I like the overall fit of the type 2. It's somewhere between the rider's jacket (9527J) and a type 3. Compared to my type 3s I have better arm movement and it feels better across the upper chest than a type 3 because the pockets are lower, but those just my personal experiences/preferences. I just love the look of Iron Heart's type 2.

Great fit on your IHJ-84-BLK @Yogi217

@NoRepoMan What are you thinking about? It is reactive dyed so will retain it's colour quite well with multiple washes. It won't fade like indigo or sulphur dyed clothing.
@Yogi217 may be able to give you a more specific description.

Yes, no fading, but it is wearing in nicely. It's getting less use now that we are getting into the 30 F temps, but I like that it doesn't fade. It's a nice contrast with faded jeans and looks sharp with more dressier jeans or pants. One of my favorite all around jackets. Sorry, dont have any pics atm.
Looks boss over a sweatshirt. The guys at iron heart Germany posted some great pictures of them wearing it.
Looks smart with slacks and dreams shirt….
Buy it!

@Yogi217 do you mind if I ask what size you went with, and your height? I'm not sure I can get a good fit on thIs, my main concern being the length. A medium would fit well I think but could be a bit short. Super fit on yours!

Sure thing. I went with a medium and I'm about 5'8" and a half inch. I have a short torso and long arms. Thanks for the compliments.
I don't mind a shorter fit on lighter jackets as it just goes well in warmer weather with a t shirt and lighter jeans.
However, i still wear this over a sweatshirt and it looks awesome.
I also like a shorter fit when i wear a type 2 or 3 with dressier clothes. I will wear this over a shirt and tie with some slacks to work as well.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy to help.

Thanks @Yogi217 for the quick reply, that's very helpful. I'm a few inches taller so probably need a large, but the L might be a bit wide in the shoulder/chest. Maybe my body just isn't the Type-2-type. It is a boxy-ish cut, which I get is the style, and I do love the look. I'll keep staring at the chart, thanks again!
