I don't love lined pockets- I live in a hot, humid climate and the extra layer of fabric makes my ass sweat more.

They don't hurt but add even more quality.
How do these details add more quality? Are you saying that the current design is inferior?

Agreed. I like the option to not have them on my classic 634S.

Sure thing. Let me try again with the complete sentence. How do these details add more quality? Are you saying that the current design is inferior? I guess what I'm getting at here, is do extra selvedge lines add to the quality of the jeans? Are you saying that fewer selvedge lines make for a product with decreased quality? When I think of something of quality, I think of it's durability. for expample, a mass produced leather product stitched with a machine isn't at the same quality level of a leather product that's stitched by hand. There's an obvious quality difference there. Do sewn in belt loops add to the quality? Are you saying that because the current 634 design doesn't have this feature that they're of lesser quality? Should I be asking Iron Heart for a refund because my jeans are inferior and will fall apart prematurely at the belt loops?

I'm not trying to stoke any fires here, but most of the other 634 models have the details that I was hoping for on the 634-XHS - selvedge fly, sewn-in belt lops, lined rear pockets.
These details do not add to the quality of construction, but are appealing to the wearing - in this case me! Except I think a selvedge fly is a detail that improves quality over a lock-stitched cut edge where the stitching can fray.
I'm not trying to be bitchy, cynical or critical, but where do you draw the line on a design issue like this? What details do you add on on what spin-offs of the base design?

recall when the 301s didn't have selvedge id, & it was a big deal to a few of us & we went over all the reasons it could & couldn't happen?
then a few years later BOOM, 301s have selvedge id.IMHO, it takes up too much bandwidth to change those few details that only a very small portion of the community is asking about. the factories get what it takes to make 634s with their eyes closed at this point. to go in & change it is probably a pain in the ass that isn't needed, but keep voicing your opinion cause who knows, in another few years if enough folks b!tch & moan, maybe, just maybe they will change all those small but so important details

The 634 UHR has selvedge fly, beltloops sewn into waistband and fully lined rear pockets.
