@Twistlock Awesome! What is the strategy behind the first soak?
-
Recommended as per the guidelines, but mot mandatory. Gets rid of the starch, any shrinkage and beds down the constructional stitching. Will make them last longer.

Yep, that's why @long_john86
-
@popvulture no washes. I do dry my hands on my thighs after washing them sometimes, picked that up from Filthy. But these jeans have not been been washed, no.
-
@popvulture 0 washes
-
@Oaktavia
great
I can’t believe you cut your hair , wow
but looks awesome dude ! -
@Oaktavia dang dude that’s hella fading for no washed. Good work!
-
@Daniel-San haha I do so from time to time. I just usually let it grow once it's buzzed.
@popvulture like I said, the thighs definitely have touched water drying my hands after washing them while wearing them, but that's it. The shins really show the unwashed nature of the jeans.
-
@Oaktavia yeah was really noticing it in the thighs, so the hand wiping def explains that
-
@popvulture it helps remove any unwanted spots or dust that often ends up on the lap. Filthy wrote about this somewhere on here. They don't get soaked or anything, just a little moist.

this discussion and my recent good results with using a shop vac on a type iii has me wondering if using a small upholstery cleaner might provide a good way to also spot clean. Though it might be I'm just more morbidly curious how disgusting the water would look like in the tank

I have a clothes steamer that I use for wool and suits---and 25oz 634s. I steam and then give them a gentle wipe with a towel. When they're dirty for reals, wash'em. Fades are stubborn but I take that as a very good thing, I'm in no hurry.

Just me staring at my legs…

@Giles Just been mulling over this more… would this soaking recommendation influence the dimensions you would seek out for a new pair of 25oz 634, in comparison to 21oz? For example, if you have a great fitting pair of 21oz 634s, and want to achieve a similar fit with 25oz, can you simply go for the same measurements in the 25oz, or do you need to make any adjustments (eg a few extra cm on critical dims) to account for the nature of the fabric/soak/etc?
-
Always wondered, is there a reason why the back pockets are unlined on the XHS 634? Just a decision from the boss?

@long_john86 I am one week into my 634 XHS coming from 21oz 777S. Ordered size 36 (which is what I have in the 777). They fit comfortably when I got them. Hot soaked it at 40 degree Celsius (104 degree F). They shrunk minimally in the waist and after a week of wear back to where I got them more or less. In short, the measurement (in the waist) that you read is what you get and what you keep.
