No direct experience, but I'd go Waterfront, Renaissance, Courtyard/Pioneer Square in that order. Check out Division Road if you're free, Blue Owl is a bit further away from down town. When are you in town, might be fun to get a few locals together for a beer?

Thanks crew - our Los Angeles trip in June got cancelled so wanting to surprise my wife with a trip to see her sister in a few weekends, but don’t exactly want to stay on their houseboat with them [emoji23]

I’m always game for a meet up, however this will be my wife’s birthday weekend, but perhaps I can convince her a trip to division road and a few beers there is warranted for my effort

Best Marriott Hotels in Seattle - In a cool location??
Please advise…
I've stayed at the Renaissance on Madison. Nice Hotel, especially if you get a room on a high floor. In a hilly area, good for exercise walking. Then again Marriott waterfront may place you close to the house boat.

Good call guys! Waiting to get verification that the twins are taken care of for the weekend and will look at both the waterfront Marriot and the Renaissance. Thankfully one of my clients works for Marriott

Go with the Courtyard in Pioneer Square. We stay there at least once a year. The Renaissance is nicer and has a bigger room, but it's all the way at the top of a hill and it's a pain in the ass.
If you stay there, try the pasta place around the corner. It's only open during the week for lunch. It's amazing. Get there before they open the doors or else you'll be waiting for a while. The line goes around the corner pretty fast.
Edit: my wife goes there twice a year. I go once a year with her. It's our favorite hotel in the area. She's from WA so we head there once a year for personal travel. She goes there for work for a couple weeks every year.

I like seeing what Haraki-san is working on with his sketches. Curious if these are sketches of stuff he's working on for SS19? I spy a new fabric swatch of flannel in the background

That would be my guess.

Is their houseboat over by the Ballard Locks?
I have zero clue, other than my ideal multi trip does not involve sleeping on it. [emoji23]
I’ll ask though. I got pretty good rates at the waterfront - probably going to stay there.
Is getting a rental car a total waste of time in Seattle?

If you’re staying in downtown, it’s kind of a waste. Parking sucks, and mass transit is pretty good if you need to travel from one end of the city to the other.
The waterfront Marriott is nice if you get a good rate. It’s right across from Anthony’s I think.
Be situationally aware at night if you’re going up the stairs adjacent to it going up to the market. There are sometimes some sketchy characters there.
The fucking town is built vertically going west to east so wear comfy shoes!

For my trip to Seattle a couple of years ago, we skipped renting a car. Did not miss it at all, and the kids managed the walking reasonably well.

@Chris you regularly wash and machine dry your IH denim correct? If so do your Jeans not have creases and combs? Or do they but it’s less defined? Also do you get any shrink from
The regular drying? Thanks -
I will third the opinion that a rental car is not necessary if you're staying in downtown Seattle.

Good deal - thanks Everyone - hoping for a fun trip away
