Those look great, @Stuart.T! When I tried them on with my 555, things didn't go so well.
One of the reasons I wondered about your inseam was that if you dont cuff like Mr.T here and have a long inseam that doesn’t require much hemming then it will be a struggle. Cuffing or losing four inches (like I have to) gives you a little more wiggle room.
It’s also worth mentioning that not all Engineer boots are the same. Stuart’s Viberg’s have a relatively short shaft and beautiful but lightweight leather. I can squeeze my 555’s over my burlap Wesco’s (5oz), and just about over my IHWE-5 (9” shaft), but my lined Boss in 7.5oz oil tanned is a non-starter.

Reason being is I have been considering getting a pair for this winter after seeing this build from S&S a while ago. Only worry is if they might look a bit daft at Size 7.5D. Chris said I can get the shaft cut a touch narrower than standard but I am on the fence!

@Wlemon These are my Pronto/IH PIH10ANT jeans over Wesco Boss boots. These boots are unlined, and the Pronto cut may give you another acceptable option,as well as an excuse to get a pair of jeans in this awesome denim. Pictures with a camera indoors are just not doing the color justice.

That is a sweet hem on those engineers @Jett129 . I believe that pronto cut is more comparable with 777's Tham 555's when it comes to taper. This works well with engineers as despite the hem being trim the taper in the calf gives the boot shaft some room.
@AdamJ I'm assuming you have a (ahem…) "cute" inseam to go with the cute feet. The hemming will give you a bit more room. If you're going to have them custom built anyway go for a slightly shorter shaft (9" for example). I said it earlier but if you can make it work the MP toe on slim tapered jeans is badass.

@Alex thanks mate. I had the heel remodelled by Felix the Bootmaker in London, as with quite a few Viberg made to order boots, they didn't stick to the requested build. The natural leather heel stack is stained with dark beeswax, and Felix shaped the woodsman heel for me. The are chromexel with Japanese roller buckles. I'm a UK 9 in Vibergs.
I've always liked the idea of a pair of Wesco engineer boots, but the toebox is a bit large for my tastes, and the heel stacks too high. I appreciate you can get bespoke builds, but getting the sizing wrong scares the hell out of me. I might go for a pair of lace up boots some day.

You'll be a US9.5 in Wesco. Get the MP or Morrison toe built on a lowered last. Robert's your father's brother

My 555-02 is probably the widest I have in terms of hem due to them being a larger tag size when I was heavier last year. My 555S-16 are Tag 29 and the hem on those is tiny.
That makes sense. Proof that variations between the iterations of a cut can make a meaningful difference.

I’m thinking of buying this Patagonia Atom Sling pack and was curious what your thoughts are? I like my Patagonia down jacket a lot and like their mission statement and that this pack is made from recycled materials. Only $59 too. I’m leaning heavily towards Patagonia but wanted to know if there were other companies out there you’d recommend? I take my son to the state fair every summer and this pack would be very functional for those occasions

Mystery Ranch do a very simple one called the Hip Monkey which is 8l.
Otherwise, I would check out the X-Pak by Codeofbell which will probably provide you with my storage options

A non-modified type iii, yes
Dang a ding dang do I was hoping for a modified version, but I know there are others that prefer the shorter trucker profile. Either way, I'm sure the non-modified version will still sell.

That's what I figured. No biggie though. I'm curious to see how cool the Pronto denim looks in trucker form

Thanks, but I ended up ordering a shoulder bag from Master-Piece. It’s a little bigger than the Patagonia but suits my needs.
I think it would be pretty cool if IH did a collab with Master-Piece and made a shoulder bag like the one above. Of course, I’d put the IH touch on it and make it in whipcord [emoji41]
