Fan smack talk aside, Tua seems like a great kid and I agree @mclaincausey if a player is hurt, let 'em sit out and recover. Really should be that simple.
-
Watching Tua seize up like that was brutal! Made my stomach turn. I have a feeling the Dolphins are in for a huge fine. Seems odd that there isn’t an independent doctor in charge of on field concussion evaluations. I’ve heard they have “spotters” that are leave appointed that watch from the sidelines or something that are supposed to help with this. Huge F up on this one. I hope the kid doesn’t suffer long term damage.
However, I hope the Broncos bring the pain to the Raiders this Sunday!!!
-
Go Donks!!
They allegedly had a doctor sign off on his returning to the field against the Bills, which seems like malpractice to me. Pretty clearly a ding to the head caused the wobbles.
-
I agree @mclaincausey
Sadly, they pulled Tua into claiming it was a back and ankle injury. He probably felt the pressure and the draw to get back into the game and compete. I think that decision should be taken out of the players hands completely and ruled my an unaffiliated doctor. Team doctors clearly have bias and pressure from owners.
-
Yeah–no player is capable of making that decision, especially a concussed player. It is up to the doctor to honor the Hippocratic Oath and do the right thing. They need to be completely insulated from political pressure to skew their decision-making.
-
I didn’t see any of the game last night, but after last week I was pretty surprised that he was playing this week. I was, wrongly, under the impression that the concussion protocol was totally taken out of the players/coaches hands and that there was a Concussion Protocol team that would dictate when a player was able to return to the game. A couple of people I heard on ESPN sports shows were really surprised that he didn’t have a concussion the previous week. It was a hot topic of conversation on my Woodford Reserve bourbon tour today.

Just read that the unaffiliated neurotrama specialist who diagnosed Tua’s concussion status the week before the Cincinnati game was fired for making several mistakes. I wonder if he is just taking the fall for an organization and coaching staff that clearly didn’t have Tua’s health in mind. I’m with @Oaktavia that Tua seems like such a good guy. Hate that players feels so much pressure to perform in spite of serious health concerns.

Yeah its bullshit. Had it been Lamar I would have shit a brick. But even still. Don't matter who it is.
-
they don't give a rats ass about Tula or anybody else $$$$$

-
The Chargers have beaten the Texans and congratulations to @Matt as he now Charges into Week 5. @Twistlock needs Green Bay to beat The Pats to join him!
-
Steelers couldn't even beat the Jets. How about those 4-0 Eagles and Buffalo Bills? LMAO
-
Looks like the Pats gave the Cheese Heads all they could handle, but Green Bay wins and @Twistlock moves on to week 5.
-
Bills eat Ravens up 23? how did they manage to lose
-
Congrats to @Matt and @Twistlock for movin’ on. And I gotta mention that ridiculous play that Mahomes made last night. Chiefs had a nice bounce back win from that awful Colts game.
-
I get it. I didn’t get that game here so had to watch highlights. Wondering what you and @oaktavia make of the 4th down call?
I can also say, without hesitation, that as a lifelong Mizzou fan I am uniquely qualified to understand fan suffering(there should be a book on it) and I feel for you guys.

I would have had Tucker come out and Tuck it in for a FG had I had my Harbaugh hat on. But I can see why he thought we could have earned another TD. It was a head scratcher.
