@Mizmazzle Does that start with teams making complaints or is there a review process from higher ups? Did not know they were doing that but think it's much needed.

I just recently learned that the refs themselves can be fined when they miss flagrant fouls.
I don't think the refs can be fined but they should be. Please correct me if I am wrong. Players can be fined for criticizing the refs though.
Edit: during the Raven's game last Sunday against the Broncos, one of the announcers (Romo?) made a dry joke saying something along the lines of, "perhaps that ref should be fined". Is that what you heard?
-
I wasn’t aware the refs could be fined until I heard a commentator state a couple weeks ago, “that official will definitely be getting fined for missing that call.”
I was just reading there is an officiating committee that reviews every game and each officiant gets a review of performance after each game with training materials to improve performance. If they are consistently underperforming they can be punished and penalized, not have their year to year contracts renewed, and only the highest performing officials are used in the post season.
-
@goosehd You totally got me as I thought you were 100% serious. My understanding is that every week, every ref is graded on their performance and at the end of the year, the top rated refs are chosen to work the playoffs and ,ultimately, the Super Bowl. They show the replays on the screens everyone sees them.

Pretty much feel the same way about baseball...
They make bad calls because baseball is boring, a game lasts 14 hours, and after five minutes everyone has fallen asleep or is on their way to get a beer.
Cricket on the other hand is as riveting on the morning of day 1 as at the end of day 5
-
@Tago-Mago That is the beauty of baseball though...the boring part is a way to moderate and pace your drinking throughout the game.
-
@Tago-Mago Pretty much and waiting in line to use the urinals.

Told y’all! What a fun game to watch @Denimhead-0

Steelers in da house

How bout those Chiefs. Denver did everything possible to win that game, and me and probably a million other people thought it was over. Condolences to @Mizmazzle you deserved to win that one. Had you picked The Broncos in the pool you would be the new front runner for the worst beat of the year award.
-
@Mizmazzle I sincerely feel for you man. They kicked the Chief’s ass all over the field for a lot of the game. Really impressed with the Broncos pass rush…thought they were going to put Mahomes on a stretcher. And also impressed with Nix, hard to believe he’s a rookie. Just an unbelievable result
-
@SKT yeah man. I was super impressed with how well the Broncos played on both sides of the ball. I would have even been happy with how far they’ve progressed throughout the season and battling the Chiefs in such a well played game. But for it to end the way it did…just a perfectly coached ending to the last second…then that!!? Ugh.

Many years ago a band called The Boomtown Rats had a song called I Hate Mondays, but not me because that’s the day I get to do the wrap up for the IH Survivor Pool. This segment is called What The Flock? @Matt was CAWtious this week going down to the Big Easy for some Easy money as he picks The Falcons to beat The Saints, who had just lost 7 in a row,and fired their head coach, but it was not to be as the Saints march al over the Falcons beating them 20 -17 and sending Matt to the sidelines. Side note…All other the other teams with Birds in their names won this week. @Oaktavia goes across the Potomac this week, also not picking The Ravens,as he looks to the Commanders to beat The Ravens rival Steelers,or The Squeelers as he has been known to call them. But there would be no Hail Mary’s this week as The Commanders lose to the Steelers by a score of 28-27. On another side note @Oaktavia was 0-2 picking Commanders last week. @Nocturama,filling in for Da @goosehd picked Da Bears, who picked this week to go into hibernation as The Patriots marched all over them to the final score of 19-10. @Twistlock made me think of the hit TV show Ted Lasso about an American who goes over to Europe to coach Futbol, but in reverse,@Twistlock is from Europe and is doing a great job picking American football as the Bills “Lasso” the Colts 30-20 and send @Twistlock into week 11. @Mizmazzle snowed in with a blizzard in Denver, drinking bourbon, getting snow days, watching football had his version of a “Happy/Sad” moment as he correctly picks The Eagles, who fly into Allas(There’s no longer a D in Dallas) and proceed to run all over the aforementioned Cowboys to the tune of 187 yards and beating them 34-6 making @Mizmazzle very happy to still be in the Pool, but his Denver Broncos would lose to the hated Chiefs on a last second blocked field goal making him very sad. Now for the Slick Pick of the week @IrishHeart picked The Lions to go into Houston and beat The Texans. Jared Goff did everything he possibly could to try and lose that game. He threw not one but 5 interceptions,at the half The Texans are up by 16 and I’m thinking @IrishHeart is toast. I don’t know what they did, ate, drank,or what Coach Campbell said to them but man did they ever come roaring back scoring 19 unanswered points and shutting the Texans out and getting Irish Heart the win. Definitely one of the best games I’ve seen this year. I root for all you guys when I’m watching the games and checking scores. That what makes it fun ,but I’d be Lion(couldn’t resist) if I said I wasn’t rooting extra hard for @IrishHeart yesterday. There you have it. We’re down to Three… Stooges/Muskateers/Amigos. Football on Thursday,Sunday,Monday and that’s your wrap up for another crazy week in The NFL.
