It's kind of sad to see the old guard of QBs go down the tubes so quickly. Aaron Rodgers missed some throws he didn't used to miss, Drew Brees' gimp thumb resulted in a game-changing lost fumble, Brady's stats are down and he hasn't thrown a TD in the postseason in several quarters. These ole gunslingers don't have many years left, and they are definitely losing their edge.
But I never like comparing who beat whom because I can just as easily point out that the Chiefs lost to a GB team that was thoroughly dismantled by these 9ers and to Tennessee (in the regular season), who similarly relies upon a bruising running game but has a much better defense.
And don't worry, Andy Reid still has time to botch the Chiefs' opportunity
I think the 9ers D may be dominant enough to win, but OTOH being able to score at will has shown to win over the possession offense by the Chiefs this year. Only way possession teams beat high-flying offenses is by getting a lead and bleeding the clock to limit the opportunities for the opponent to score. Tennessee couldn't manage it, but the 9ers may be able to because their D can steal possessions or even score.

When Mahomes scored his rushing TD, were the Titans defence not aware that they were allowed to tackle him?!
-
Mahomes is a real wild card and Garoppolo was 2nd round pick by the Pats so I'm hoping it's an interesting game.
-
I literally just noticed that the Washington Redskins are now just Washington. How about that.

New York Giants 0-4

LMFAO
-
Oh crap, I just looked at their record… I didn't know that. Also Buffalo is in 1st place. Crazy.
I follow the Giants because my ex-brother-in-law loved them (and I do not care for him much).

Yes, he’s really showing the form he displayed for Man United and England all those years ago.

Who is Odell - is he one of David Beckham’s sons?
-
For starters this is a thread about American Football, not soccer. Odell Beckham Jr. is a wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns. No relation to David. @Maynard Friedman
-
Oh, I thought it was about football in America. I know Beckham has bought a team in Miami, I just assumed he’d used a bit of nepotism to get his son involved.
-
Love him or not, Brady is amazing. Gronk isn't half bad either.
-
Gronk didn’t get all that much action during the regular season and playoffs, but in the big game Brady went to the guy he could trust. I was rooting for the Chiefs, but they just flat out got beat. I knew going in that their O Line was patchwork, but didn’t think it would be that bad. Thought they would try to run more. Hats off to Brady and all the Bucs.
-
The Buccs late season/playoff timing was perfect and they had a huge amount of momentum going into the game. They were just too good on the day and the Chiefs lack of discipline cost them dearly. Their defence was outstanding and totally nullified all the Chiefs offensive weapons. Having said all of this, I still think Brady was key and they wouldn’t even have been contenders without him.
-
I agree 100% with everything you said. While I was rooting for the Chiefs, and I knew going in that the O line was banged up,and that Mahomes might not be 100%,which made me think that they would lean more heavily on the run game, just to keep the defense honest/off of him. Also sometimes when teams are going back to the Super Bowl for the 2nd time in a row they can get caught up in the hype, and they clearly didn’t know what hit them when Tampa came on the field, and the wheels came off really quickly, which resulted in penalties, which kept Tampa drives alive. On another note sorry for the run on sentences.

Chiefs offensive line was so bad I couldn't believe it. I felt really bad for Mahomes
