IH-555-XHSBB - 25oz Selvedge Denim Super-Slim Cut Jeans - Black/Black
-
@Gothxjock welcome mate! every pair is one on it’s own. And the way each denim has been treated gives every a uniqueness to it. For example my 555 slubby has a other rise then my 555 UHR. The way the bb has been dyed is other then the normal xhs for example there is another layer of dye on it so it’s less breathable and thicker then a normal xhs so there is another breaking in process then with the normal xhs. Look on the website and you’ll see that there are no 555 measurements the same on every pair. On the other hand when the difference is a inch or more maybe there is something else going one. My suggestion would be: rock em as hard as possible:)

Grabbed a pair of these as a backup. Save them for a few years. On clearance it’s hard to beat.
My 777BB pair is close to the perfect pair of 25oz

Nice @kkibbey23 how is your 777 fading? Thinking about grabbing one 2!

Just orderd.. was a long time lurker for this pair.. since it is not going to be made anymore i took the shot and will throw it in rotation with my 555 UHR and my 777 21ib! Will throw some pics when it had arrived!

I will say I think the reason mine faded the way they did was starting with soaks in a tub when they were dirty (with detergent) and being super careful to keep the knees bent backwards so that the combs folds stayed in place during the soak. From there, I propped the hems up and made sure the combs folds stayed slightly folded while they were laid to dry on top of bath towels. From there, multiple machine washes and wearing 4-5 days a week to about 140 wears helped achieve a mixture of contrast and vintage fades, which is what I aim for with my jeans…hope that makes sense.

@Oaktavia great info mate! Thanks
-
@Oaktavia what kind of detergent did you use?

I took advantage of the fact that these were being sold in the outlet at a significant discount. I really love the fabric; it's just what I was looking for. The only issue is they're a little uncomfortable when seated, and they're still quite difficult to button up. You can see in the first photo the fly is not even buttoned. I've since been able to do up the fly. I anticipate the buttoning up will become easier as the fabric softens and buttons become more pliable, but I am worried about the waist. I feel like if I gained a couple pounds they would no longer fit.
I really want to keep them because I do love the fabric, and from my understanding, they are not going to be produced again. But at the same time, I want the jeans to last me a few years and I don't want to be uncomfortable when wearing them. Can anyone chime in with their experience breaking this denim in and what kind of stretch I can expect? I've heard they stretch 1 inch in the waist before soak/wash but then will shrink back down about an inch. Is this what most people have experienced?
