With my apologies for cross-posting
This morning our UPS account manager gave us an overview of their “UPS My Choice” service, which we hope will help many of you enormously. We understand completely how frustrating it is to miss a delivery, or stay home only to find the delivery has been delayed, etc. etc. But we’re told that many of these problems can now be resolved by giving you more control…
Launched within the US in 2011, many of our US customers may already have signed up for this (and if you already use it for UPS deliveries within the US we’d be delighted to get some feedback).
“My Choice” has now been rolled out to many other countries, including most of Europe. The UPS package recipient signs up online, which then gives him/her access to packages in transit. Some features are:
- you will receive text or email notification of estimated 1-hour delivery slot
- you can change timing of delivery if not suitable
- you can change address of delivery
- you can arrange pickup from convenient UPS customer centre (and many of these are open outside regular working hours)
- you can request package is held (for up to 10 days we believe) before delivery
The services do vary a bit from country to country, but we hope this will make life easier for many of you, please take a look and see what you think:
We’ve been told we can start using this straight away, and I believe it takes a few days for security verification, so those of you expecting to get something from us – or anyone – via UPS soon, please sign up now!
If you have any questions – especially about countries where this is not yet operational - drop me an email or PM.

I love MyChoice. I've been using it for a couple of years, and it always notifies me of an incoming package, and let's me optimize my delivery time and location depending on my situation. Most often, I'll opt to have a package held at the Will Call facility to pick up when it's convenient for me.

Been using it for a number of years as well & it even allows me to get the bluebag left with a 3rd party or let's me opt out of a signature.
It's a good service & gives me peace of mind or is that a piece of mind.
Now make them workout the stuff with returns & we will be all gravy

I just started using it recently and it works flawlessly (so far) with IH deliveries, alerts telling me exactly where it is and when it will be delivered - and as others said, you can direct them what to do with your package if needed. It is way cool. UPS is awesome, I can't believe how quick I get stuff from the UK.
-
why don't one of you helpful folks put what the email looks like that you get from UPS showing the status of your delivery so folks can decide if it's something they want to invest their time in. I would do it, but I am absolutly useless 96.99% of the time

@madmonday Get this. Even I can use it…

Alea iacta est….
My Colorado employer, and the state of Colorado, are now stuck with me--offer formally accepted yesterday (verbal last Thursday). Start date 11/17, move should be completed within a month of that.
I love the company I'm at and the people I work with, so informing them of the move has been bittersweet. And, being the great people they are, they have been quite congratulatory and well-wishing.

Oh dear…...
More bank account destruction imminent.
