Oh we're still talking dicks?..

Cheers @steelworker I can’t defend rationally the principle that your head of state be whoever came out of a particular vagina first, but I think that having someone apolitical be the glue that binds the constitution together has served us well, and is a better alternative than have that be a partisan appointment or representative.

@endo Had to look it up because I didn’t know who it was and still really don’t: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chico_Slimani

@tody Chico - a long since forgotten Z list celebrity from one of the reality singing contests from back in the day. Haven’t seen him in years.

@IrishHeart @endo Ok, so there was a bit of over-interpretation from my side. I thought that between the Prince of Wales and the Prince of darkness there was a third nickname involved…

Absolute hell of a morning. Had to take our youngest to the dentist to have 3 teeth extracted and because they took so long to get everything set up and her nerves/trepidation, etc., we didn't end up pulling the teeth. Had to reschedule and maybe our approach to having them pulled. To see fear in the eyes of your 7 year old was heart breaking and I don't want her to be afraid of the dentist down the road.
Knew it was the right decision to not do it and the dentist agreed, but they have to be pulled at some point.
Emotionally drained would be an understatement.

@goosehd sorry to hear this man.. hope things will work out fine eventually! To see you’re kids in such situations isn’t fine at all! Wish you’ll better times man!
-
@goosehd Oh no! I feel for you guys and especially your kid. If it’s any consolation, my son had to have one pulled when her was 9 or so. He was anxious and scared but the dentist did a wonderful job and he now has no negatives associated with it. Maybe try just one first to ease the fear? Also, the pulled baby teeth seemed to heal miraculously fast for him. Good luck and keep us posted!

It’ll be a while until we are going back in. Right now coordinating between the dentist and the specialist on the best approach. Our dentist has an 8 yo that needs the same thing done and even he is having difficulties.
There is a specialist about an hour away that specializes in this and we may be going there.
Thankfully she’s not terrified yet, but avoiding that is our goal. We may do an oral sedation and pull them while she’s semi conscious or we may do a general anesthesia if nothing else works.
Biggest issue is she doesn’t have room for the adult teeth and because of a misalignment between the baby/adult teeth the babies aren’t going to get pushed out.

@goosehd clearly not a good day but I suspect everything will come good. Hope you manage to work out a plan with the dentist/specialist.
As a child my dentist used to treat my teeth with something that made me vomit every time and I needed some teeth taking out to make space for the adult ones. When older they moved on to using dental crowbars quite aggressively to get rid of hard scale. Surprisingly I’m still ok with going to the dentist, although glad the crowbars have now been replaced with a pressure washer (I guess dentists have more neutral terminology).
