IHV-40-BRN - Beach Cloth Vest - Brown
-
I can't wait to see it.
-
…well tickle my ass with a feather! I'm so pleased with this acquisition! Couldn't be happier!
…looking like Norton on 'The Honeymooner's'!
-
…here's one buttoned up. It's possible I could of went down a size but if I ever have to launder it I'll still be safe.
-
@vaquero357
first off, that thing is not my style but suits you perfectly. I love the look of the beach cloth and leather. It's like nothing I've seen before.second, I think you would be safe to size down and still be able to layer, have a little less length in the body, and get more year round use out of it.
Take this as an uneducated opinion from across the twin cities metro area by a guy typing this in a pink jacket.
whatever you decide, that thing is badass
-
@vaquero357 that vest is so sweet. Looks awesome on you.
-
…thanks @Filthy @jordanscollected ! It is an oddity and according to sir Giles there's usually so few of the XXXXL size in anything produced right now that it's sure to be a 'rare oddity'! :o
…by the description of it it's supposed to be more fit and worn under a jacket, I know, but I'd hate to cover it up! It's too cool it needs to be hangin' it out there!
...there's a pocket for my pipe, for my tobacco, my lighter and maybe a monocle! you know, for when I get old.
...and @jordanscollected I think of your jacket as a rose' or chablis or champagne…not pink! ???
-
…@Appfaff I definitely could see you sporting this vest my friend, this is right up your alley!
-
…is this cool or what?
-
I have the IHV-08 and it’s great but this one is really special. Those pockets truly set it all off!
I like that Haraki has fixed the issue with the shoulders bowing out in the front when it is fully buttoned. It’s my only quibble with the original but it’s too functional and easy to wear not to enjoy it. I could def see mine as always fitting in with my wardrobe in one way or another. I imagine you’ll find yours to be the same.
Be careful about washing it though, I think I remember a Beach Cloth jacket shrinking really dramatically after a hot wash? I dont think I’ve washed mine but maybe dry cleaned it?

…thanks @neph93! I'm sure the 'calf leather pockets' kicked up the price on this also but I doubt I'll ever see anything like this out on the mean streets! :o
The original vests were also “reassuringly expensive”, I think there are only a couple machines in the world capable of producing this beautiful material!
And Jordan, you can totally pull this off. I think it would fit your style pretty well!
I have to tell myself I dont need another one [emoji37]

@Anesthetist I think I'll just wear the hell out of it and relax it a bit. I won't be throwing this in the wash, not with the calf skin going on and I'm not positive but I don't believe 'dry cleaning' will help to shrink or tighten things up either, but all is well I think it feels/looks good!

Received mine about two weeks ago and promptly removed the two upper pockets. Way too warm here in Minnesota to even try wearing it yet and I may see if my tailor can shift the lower pockets a bit as well. The beech cloth is amazing; thick and appears durable AF. Fall comes around early here and I’m excited to test it out.

…blasphemy @Jackboots ! Don't be messin' with Harakisan's design! Oh the shame!

I will mess with anything I spend $400 on regardless of whom designed it. That is part of the interest in owning something worthwhile, making it personal and unique. I’m guessing he would hate the 666Ds I turned into shorts then, eh?

Received my IHV-40-BRN today, so glad i could get it in the outlet section with a nice discount and the last L available, that thing is beautiful and pictures doesn't give it justice, it's so underrated, paired here with the Big Buck .
-
I love that vest. I would instantly leather condition those pockets to give them a vintage look. Great pairing with the button up.
-
Would not have guessed it would pair so well with leather. Well done on the fit and getting a great piece.
-
@jordanscollected that is the ONLY thing I would have changed with this upgrade would be a slightly darker shade of leather or black horsehide.
