I understand the Ramones place in history , but as a half-arsed
hack on drums and guitar - I found them boring . This sort of music , math rock,
jazz fusion prog , cinematic instrumentals whatever you need to call it - inspires me and affords repeat listenings .Cheers

Daniel, did you hear the other guys' project from WU LYF, titled Los Porcos? Also really fantastic.
BTBAM has five LPs, an EP and a cover album aside from their self-titled! If you listen to the progression over time, it goes from "technical death metal" to something like "technical space metal." It's really really brilliant, especially since Tommy taught himself to growl properly between the second and third albums. Also they have a different drummer from the first album, and they've kept the new guy all these years. Very clean, very talented complex drumming
hey man. im a huge metal fan and i enjoy btbam, but theyre not a favourite. tommy is one talented dude though!

I have heard los porcos as well and I enjoyed what I heard. I was familiar with btbam up until Alaska, I just meant that the only record I really gave dedicated listening to was the st. Right place, right time. I didn't realize they were still releasing music. Pretty awesome longevity.
Nice call on the tortoise as well jock!

As someone that considers "Sea Change" by Beck to be a top 5 all time record, I encourage anyone to check out his new LP "Morning Phase". Fantastic stuff, worthy of being called a companion piece to SC.
