Being so much older than pretty much everyone here,and music being such an integral part of my life on so many levels,I’m not sure how/where I fit in the musical discussions. I think it must get tiresome hearing that I saw so and so or in this case Pink Floyd twice at The Fillmore East in 1970 on the heels of Saucer Full of Secrets and Umagumma. Just absolutely amazing,mind blowing shows. I like The Wall but with its massive commercial success I have over listened to it. Never saw them live other than The Fillmore East shows. Apologies if I get on peoples nerves,not essentially looking to one up,just a function of the musical time period I grew up in. I’m always looking to you guys to turn me on to cool new stuff,and that does ,indeed,happen from time to time. Billy Strings an example of that.

@Jett129 - i dont think i speak for myself only when i say that its a privilege and huge pleasure to read what you bring here. thanks for sharing this unique experiences and tales, because as every true music fan knows - there are some life changing moments. i for sure had a few.

@endo Oh yes! Fine bunch of musicians from the wonderful North East of England!! Love 'em!
-
@Jett129 He certainly speaks for me, too.
It seems that you have been incredibly lucky to have been at the right places at the right time. I have a few of these moments where I'm so happy to be able to claim 'I have been to that show' - and quite a few where I can't believe I didn't go.
Those who get their kicks out of live shows certainly enjoy those tales! -
@tody @Tago-Mago Thank you so much for the incredibly kind words. Really appreciate it. Put a big smile on my face!

Happy Friday everyone!

@Jett129 Stories like that are golden. My old man often talks about thumbing it down to the Isle of Wight festival in the late 60s and witnessing all the greats. Also hitting up various north and east London youth clubs and grass roots venues throughout his teens and 20s to see all kinds of bands including the Beatles, Small Faces, The Who and The Rolling Stones. Literally witnessing musical history in the making. I will never grow tired of hearing about it.
So please tell us more!

@GraemeE 'made it through'
Great term of phrase given it's intensity...
Magician tore me apart, apparently the vinyl has an extended 16+ minute version in the place of the already 12 minute behemoth!
Fully expecting him and band to be just as impressive live based on recent footage I've seen. I always found myself a little disappointed with his live performances when seeing him with black midi, but he seems to have really dialled things in now he has full creative control.
Feel blessed to have been a fan since day one. It's a rare pleasure to be able follow what is bound to be legendary career from the very beginning.
