21oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Superblack (Fades To Grey)
Our medium/high rise super slim 555 cut jeans, made out of 21oz "Super Black Fades to Grey" (SBG) selvedge denim. This denim has a black sulphur dyed warp and a black reactive dyed weft. With time the warp will fade but the weft won't. It is heavy, tough, yet soft and extremely breathable. Because of the double twisted weft construction, this denim moulds to an individual's body shape like no other denim.

Love the patch.
Is there a new size chart coming?

Those measurements are looking a lot better than before. Waist looks more in line with the tag size.

If i wear sz 30 for the 555S-21, should i go with the same size with these?
I’ve just compared the sizing charts, only noticeable difference is the waist. The SBG seems to be about an inch smaller in waist.
How is the waist on your IH-555s-21 W31's? If you have an inch to spare then you could go with the same size. If they fit right you should probably consider sizing up one. The SBG seems to stretch more reluctantly than the standard indigo too.

It's possible to request the largest or smallest available of a particular size, correct? Because I am right around 33" waist where most pants I've tried seem to sit. 32.2" on size 32 would be a bit of a squeeze and 33.4" on size 33 would be quite loose after the inevitable stretch but better than too tight. Thigh measurements on size 32 also look a lot better for me.

You can ask the crew to try and and find a pair that varies one way or another, but there are no certainties «that pair» will exist. They could all be pretty similar or with very small variations.
However based on what you write it seems you haven’t factored in stretch. If a target waist of 33” is desirable, then you really want a pair that starts at 32.2”. They will stretch about an inch.
One more thing, do you know for sure that 33”
is what you need? The only way to know for sure is to measure a pair of jeans you own and wear, using the same measuring method as IH. Take that measurement, minus 0.75-1” and get a pair around that size. -

But I admit that I am quite new to this stuff. It's possible that the 32.2" would work out fine after quite a bit of initial discomfort. The pairs I have now all started out close to 33". I'd be a little concerned about just how much a tighter pair is pressing into my gut when sitting all day at work.
I measured a few pairs before ordering my first nicer denim only a month back. So I have some idea of what works for me but certainly lacking experience overall.
I'll have to ask the IH crew for some more advice should I decide to get a pair now or in the future.

Ah I misunderstood. In that case I think going from 32” to 34” would be a bit much to ask for. The SBG is tough stuff, and not easy to work with.

Question for those who also wear the 777’s:
Should I size up from the 777 if I’m more dad bod than slim and trim. I know these rest higher up than the 777’s.

Sounds like you're exactly the same size as me. I'd also ideally end up with a 33.5" - 34" waist after stretch. The leg (thigh/knee/hem) look closer to ideal for me on a 32, but bigger wouldn't be the end of the world. I just ordered a 33 and asked for a small pair, on the basis that if it's slightly large I just end up with a more relaxed fit, instead of too small where I'd end up with uncomfortable jeans that I'd probably wear less often. Maybe the 32 might have ended up a better fit, but 33 is safer.
One other thing it's worth noting if you haven't already though is that for me (and I guess others) the higher rise on these means I could probably get away with a slightly smaller waist than on other lower rise jeans, since I go in quite a bit at the waist. May or may not make a difference depending on which jeans you're comparing to and how you're shaped.

This is very useful information for me. Thank you.
My true waist is about 32". Upper hips where all my mid rise pants sit are about 33". Not a whole lot of difference but it could be enough to change my size on some pants. I honestly have never owned a high rise pair to say for sure. I also haven't purchased a 555 before so it's probably not a bad idea to measure the front and back rise on my current pairs and see how they might compare.
