The cloudmerino tops are really good for all temperatures. Very comfortable and light but they are thin and delicate.

I have their Rippy shorts, techsilk shorts and space-o shorts. I prefer the space-o shorts because the brief liner works best for me. The shorts liner is non compressive and isn’t supportive. They don’t even grip around my thighs (I don’t have skinny runners legs) so I cut them to above the shell because they look a bit silly loose around my thighs.

The AuraLite tees are simple polyester tops, nothing particularly special about them. The cut is boxy and loose which I find nice and airy in hot weather. I often wait for sales to pick the odd one up.

The top that I have been impressed with is the River shirt. It’s great for all weather and different types of runs. Button up during warm ups, interval rests/recoveries and cool downs then unbutton as needed when I get hotter. Easy to layer up or wear on its own. Also, it’s quite anti-running looking and passengers on London buses look surprised when their bus can’t quite keep up with some random bloke running around in a casual shirt.

Right now, my gear picks would be the river shirt, cloudmerino tees and 2.5in space-o shorts.

@Nik gutted for you that the cloudmerino top ripped up like that. I must admit that I do baby them and I don’t do trails so no unsuspecting thorns to catch or hydration vests to rub against for hours. Hopefully, the new cordura mix will beef up the durability as they are a spendy bit of kit.

This is the rare sanforized Pure Blue Japan 14oz double black denim jeans. It has the red selvedge ID to distinguish it from the usual blue selvedge ID unsanforized denim. It is in PBJ’s relaxed tapered cut with its higher roomier top block and legs tapering to narrow hem. All the hardware (buttons, rivets), leather patch and leaf logo are in matching black.

It has probably been worn at most 10 times and it is in super condition with no rips, tears, holes, frays, stains, etc. There is no colour loss (slightest dye fade from rear pocket seams and roped rear belt loop) which makes these jeans the ideal new fade project without the grief of excessive shrinkage. The jeans are kept in storage bag at the top of the wardrobe (non smoking, no pets household). It has never been washed, laundered or dry cleaned and in its original state apart from the inseam length.

What do you normally wear with denims?

BLA has their main store in Kings Cross, London with friendly staff and had a full range of their denim when I last popped in. I thought their gear was very nice with a modern feel to it. Unfortunately, the store is closed at the moment cos of Tier 4 COVID restrictions but it might be worthwhile visiting if you can get to London once they reopen again.

@tangfj Your fit is similar to how mine is on me. The next size up would allow me (you) to comfortably wear e.g. denim jacket underneath whereas the current size would be very snug. I guess it really comes down to how and when you are gonna wear with it and accept that at times, some outfits would had suited the other vest size instead. Or just go full retard and buy both sizes…

@tangfj I don’t own any IH shirtings but looking at the online measurements of their work shirts, I would likely be a medium. My RMC nylon 66 down vest is size 38 and my RMC M-65 is size medium. I tried on the vest size 40 in the store and chose the smaller 38 size as I wanted it to be closer fitting because I wasn’t going to wear thick bulky items underneath but mainly sweats and shirts.
