BLA has their main store in Kings Cross, London with friendly staff and had a full range of their denim when I last popped in. I thought their gear was very nice with a modern feel to it. Unfortunately, the store is closed at the moment cos of Tier 4 COVID restrictions but it might be worthwhile visiting if you can get to London once they reopen again.
@tangfj Your fit is similar to how mine is on me. The next size up would allow me (you) to comfortably wear e.g. denim jacket underneath whereas the current size would be very snug. I guess it really comes down to how and when you are gonna wear with it and accept that at times, some outfits would had suited the other vest size instead. Or just go full retard and buy both sizes…

@tangfj I don’t own any IH shirtings but looking at the online measurements of their work shirts, I would likely be a medium. My RMC nylon 66 down vest is size 38 and my RMC M-65 is size medium. I tried on the vest size 40 in the store and chose the smaller 38 size as I wanted it to be closer fitting because I wasn’t going to wear thick bulky items underneath but mainly sweats and shirts.

PBJ is my main denim brand along with Flat Head and IH.
Other denims that I like to try include SdA, Samurai and Fullcount. It’s sheer laziness that’s stopping me - Rivet and Hide is a half hour stroll from home whereas Son of a Stag is an hour trip (tube and walk).

Cheers for the compliments. Yeah, I got the size 9 (UK) but 8.5 would had been ideal. I’ll wear some chunky socks and see how that goes but I’m not particularly bothered by them being a little larger than usual. Size 8s were way too small for me and were crunching my toes.
Picked up a pair of Cabourn x Viberg chukkasin aged bark last weekend from the Cabourn London store. Hopefully, the weather in London will be better this weekend for their inaugural stomp around. Only thing to do is give them a quick spray of Saphir super invulner for water & stain proofing.
Hi all, I decided to order the Tanner Goods Wilderness rucksack in Obsidian canvas last weekend from makers themselves as they were running a 20% discount offer during that weekend. The cost of shipping it to the U.K. via UPS took up virtually all of the discount and there were import duties and tax to pay on top. Even with all of these added costs, purchasing the rucksack directly from Tanner Goods was easily the most economical route for me and it took five working days from ordering to arrival which I reckon isn't too bad at all.
As for the rucksack, the workmanship is top notch and the style works for me. This will be my daily bag so I'll have plenty of time to figure out its pros and cons (for me, at least) and its durability.
Thanks for replying Dion, I'll have to pop down to RnH at some point to take a look at them. Do you find the upper thigh to knee roomy after shrinking i.e. you can pinch some denim or is it snug?
~ OR
@Dion, I'm looking at the FH 3012 denim too. I don't suppose you took any raw and washed measurements that you could share? I find the rise of my 3002 a touch too low and constantly find myself pulling the jeans up even when belted up.

You jogged my memory of why I hesitated moving forward with the Wilderness backpack at the time. It certainly felt hefty and I wondered if the joke would get old really quickly after a few outings. Thanks for the tip about the salt and pepper version and I will check them out too.

@Graeme, @Cutlasshound thanks for the pointers on the bags. I've been meaning to head over the shops that you both mentioned but am waiting to see if the Delireis in khaki would come back in stock first. I find that there's nothing worse than doing a recon trip to check the goodies out and deciding I want it but the colour isn't available.
The other bag I checked out a while ago at Son of a Stag was the Tanner Goods Wilderness backpack. I really liked it but they didn't stock any of the colours that I liked. Has anyone from the U.K. ordered directly from the Tanner Goods website?

Great thread, this.
I am leaning towards the Bedouin Delireis rucksac as my next daily bag and am waiting for restock of the khaki colour before heading over to the shop to check it out in person. Another bag that I like the look of is the Collected Works military duffle rucksac. Has anyone seen or own one? I wonder if it might be too large for a day-to-day bag.

Thanks for the reply to my questions. The pair you got made up certainly reflect the level of detail and input from both sides. I think that a custom pair from Companion will be a 2017 project, ideally in double indigo, and once I have thought about the details that I would like.

Hi BloodnThunder, I like the level of customisation and the quality of the workmanship in your jeans!
Were the jeans specification and ordering process carried out face-to-face or by emails and/or telephone? And how did you decide on which denim cloth to use? I ask you as I was wondering who could do something bespoke for me.

Picked up my PBJ 1012-R beige chinos this morning from Rivet and Hide who were very helpful in ordering them for me directly from Japan.
I ordered Size 3 based on the measurements table listed on PBJ's website and found it quite accurate when compared against my pair. The cut is similar to their slim tapered denims e.g. XX-013 and cloth texture has some irregularities and very occasional slubs.
Received my Real McCoys M-65 pants in OG107 today. It was a special order from Japan via the Real McCoys London store and took about 10 days from initial enquiry to delivery to home so I'm really pleased with their service.

Cheers for the reply. Wallet depleting action is now imminent.

Cool. Do you know if the sizing is like the last batch or not? I'm looking to pull the trigger on tag size 29 or 30 depending on the waist size measurements. Cheers.
~ C64
Hi Giles, do you have any idea if the sizing on the new batch of IH 555-03 will be the same as before? Thanks.
