RE: IRON HEART WAYWT - 2025 EDITION
293 and DR cargos today.
Earlier this week I wore my new Bravestar indigo sweatshirt and the 888xhs. Dealing with a crap ton of crocking from the sweatshirt.

RE: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY (PICS)
@tody I have my wife to thank for most of the purpose, joy and motivation to achieve this goal. I am "consistently content".
Me: we have a farm, let's relax and enjoy it.
My wife: let's gets goats and llamas and build an obstacle course for the horses and put in a sunken greenhouse to grow produce all year round and a big garden and an addition on the house to host larger events!
keeps me young

RE: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY (PICS)
@motojobobo The horses eat hay to stay warm and we free feed them above the netting in their hay hut when it's this cold. They also grow really fluffy winter coats and that keeps them warm. Additionally they have 2 lean to's at our farm that they use to shelter out of the wind.
This is our first winter at the new farm so it's been a massive goal reached to have them in the backyard so we can keep an eye on them without having to drive to their previous boarding facility.
Last night I checked on them at 10 P.M. and it was -40F wind chill and neither of them were shivering.
We have horse blankets for them but don't use them unless necessary. The most important thing for horses to stay warm is to have a dry coat. The worst time of year for them is in the spring when they have begun to shed their winter coat and we get a cold rainy day, like 35-45F degrees. When their coat is wet they can't stay warm and then the blankets come out, preferably before the rain comes.

RE: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY (PICS)
@scooter It's not even laughable, it's downright dangerous to be outside.

RE: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY (PICS)
@scooter It's been crazy here in MN just next door to you too. -20F this morning trying to keep the chickens and ducks warm and their water from freezing has been a challenge. Finally you and I get some reprieve over the next couple days.

RE: Random Love (anti-rants)
I will take the plunge and join in on the denim day on Thursday in solidarity with your school fun day.

RE: Random questions to which you seek an answer
@Karol It's it very similar. They make a button in liner too for colder weather, but there are great weatherproof outer layers on their own.

RE: Random questions to which you seek an answer
@Karol I was handed down a Drizabone duster from a friend who passed away years ago. I have only had my hands on that oilskin duster and it's really nice quality.
What I would say is, that brand is on par with Outback trading company here in the USA and the pieces my wife and I have hold up great for farm use and horseback riding.
They state that some of their items are made in Australia while most are made in China. I'm pretty sure all of Outback trading is produced in China.
What are you interested in from Drizabone?

RE: Random questions to which you seek an answer
@mitzimeow I respect your opinion on it, but the $30 stretcher was the difference in me selling a $400 pair of denim at a huge loss.
To me it was a no brainer.
My first pair of raw denim jeans was some unknown brand that no longer exists and I sized them too small. I crossed my arms and dealt with it stubbornly for like 8 months thinking they would just stretch a little more and the problem would be resolved. That day never came.

RE: Random questions to which you seek an answer
@mitzimeow I agree with Pop that the pant stretcher is the way to go for you. I sized my 888xhs wrong and bought them an inch too small in the waist for where they sit on my body and the pant stretcher was the solution for me. I got 1" or more in the waist. I initially put them on the stretcher for 2 days to get the initial stretch and then kept them on the stretcher all the time between wears.
If you go this route. stretch them with the pants fully buttoned and made sure the top button is touching the wooden stretcher. That is you stretch front to back and not side to side. this will help keep from popping a button.
start by stretching them nice and firm and then let them sit for a few hours. Then give them another small crank to get some more stretch. repeat a few times but you can overdo it and pop the button, so use care.
If you want to get additional stretch by getting the denim wet (but you don't want to wash them, you can dip just the waistband in water till it's soaked and take the steps above.

RE: TV
@endo thanks for the recommendation. This has some of the best brutal fight cinematography I've seen in a long time. It's edited so well for impact, sound and visual in the fight/ambush scenes.
It's well paced and acted. I can't give it a perfect rating as they rely a bit too much on over the top hardship scenes in some episodes, but overall I highly recommend.

N1 vest Indigo whipcord size L $450
This pains me to do. I don’t sell my IH unless I size something incorrectly (see my 25oz denim vest I bought in XXL).
MN shoulder seasons keep getting shorter and life on the farm in winter demands cold weather gear.
This vest is the from the one-time limited run of indigo dyed whipcord. They made an N1 jacket and N1 vest initially, and then a type III later on.
For sizing reference I am 5’11” 190 lb and wear xl in all my IH shirting. I can layer this vest in large over a UHF, my 293 and my Wabash for a nice trim fit.
P2P: 22.5”
Opening: 21.5”
Back length:26.5”
Shoulders: 16.6” (don’t compare to shirts, vests measure different)I have only spot cleaned this vest, it has never seen water.
This one retailed at $650 back when the N1 vests were normally $525.
$450 shipped in the conus. Feel free to PM with inquiries.

RE: IHSH-331-BLK - 12oz Moleskin CPO Shirt - Black
@akohut I have the 316 Moleskin which is a similar if not the same 12 oz fabric. It softens a bit with wear but doesn't stretch much. It's not as unforgiving as whipcord, but it doesn't stretch like denim either.
To me I like that it keeps looking crisp wear after wear, and the brushed moleskin fabric does not "suffer" from hem curl like denim and other heavyweight fabrics do.
