These look really short in overall length, not for a shirt in general, but for a CPO shirt. I have the IHSH-293 OD CPO and it is slightly longer than a typical shirt. Not sure I would like a CPO as short as this one appears...would it not make the pockets too high to be useful?

RE: Dehen
@Brandrea If you have any sensitivity to wool whatsoever, you will hate the Dehen. If you are still determined to give it a shot, another option is to look on Grailed for a like-new preowned...that is where I sold mine and the value tanked like an anchor. I sold it like new for $235 (MSRP $435). That way you don't have so much "skin" in the game...pun intended!

RE: Dehen
@Brandrea I owned the Shawl Sweater Coat in Whiskey and I guess the "skin feel" is different for everyone, but it was absolutely the scratchiest wool garment I have ever worn. The forearm of the sleeve fits quite snug so unless I was wearing a long-sleeved mock turtleneck or something, any exposed skin felt like it was being lightly rubbed with sandpaper. I can wear my Filson Mackinaw Cruiser (which is also heavy wool) over a short-sleeved T-shirt with no issues, but the Dehen was just too much for me to handle so I sold it a month or so ago. I wish I could find a way to get along with it because the fit and quality is pure perfection. They use a different knit for the beanies, and I have three of those and wear them all the time...go figure!

RE: IHSH-293-OD - 18oz Vintage Selvedge Denim CPO Shirt - Indigo Overdyed Black
I have easily 30-40 Iron Heart items in my closet and this is by far my favorite piece of clothing...it is the epitome of everything that Iron Heart is great at in one piece. It can be used as a shirt or a jacket and the heavy-duty snaps are the icing on the cake!

@michael-b I wear Size Large in Western UHF and enjoy both Size M and Size L in the Work Shirts depending on the cut and measurements

RE: Heroes (Buying/ Selling/Trading)
I have done a couple of transactions now with @branpureza and he is top-notch in every sense of the word! Great pricing, excellent communication, and lightning-fast shipping. The two pairs of IH 555 jeans that I purchased were like new and he even included the original Iron Heart brown shipping envelope in the box. Highly recommended...A+++

RE: IHSH-343-OD - Ultra Heavy Flannel Tartan Check Work Shirt - Green Overdyed Black
@pechelman Thanks! Agreed...that was a happy accident:)
@Transporter Thanks! I wore it last night and have worn it all day today and so far I am not seeing any OD bleed on my hands or on my white undershirt. Tha amount of color transfer appears to be much less than my 293OD-CPO or my 19OD Lefty Type III. It is also much much less than any of the IH denim jeans that I own. So far so good...I will be sure to update the thread as I get some more wear time on the shirt!

RE: IHSH-343-OD - Ultra Heavy Flannel Tartan Check Work Shirt - Green Overdyed Black
This beauty just arrived yesterday and it is a stunner!!! The OD gives it an inky appearance but the subtle plaid of the original shirt shows through brilliantly. I am more impressed with this shirt than I expected to be but it is really no surprise...it essentially combines the two things Iron Heart does best (other than denim of course)...UHF + OD. Choosing the color on this one was a no-brainer for me because it was the only pattern where I did not already own the non-OD version...love it!!!

@Mizmazzle The Sax Anniversary was also already overdyed grey!

RE: Getting to fade to grey quick?
There is a woman on Reddit by the name of EllaHarp who posts her IH 888 vintage fades quite often and they look amazing. Her fades have great contrast, but the denim has a lighter overall appearance and she swears by the technique of adding a splash of bleach to every wash cycle. I have heard that idea floated by others who like a lighter fade. Perhaps that would help tame the SBG in the way you are looking for?

@Supersonic Great idea! The hemming was included in the price with jeans purchased at R&H!

RE: IH-555S-21od - 21oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Jeans - Indigo Overdyed Black
@Supersonic I was also torn between tag size 33 and 34 on this pair and have always heard that 21oz stretches with time, but in my experience that has been primarily at the waist...not in the thigh or knee.
The pair I received (and asked for) was on the low end of the Size 34 measurements so this pair is basically a half step in between. The actual waist on this pair is 34.25 (as opposed to the stated 35") and the rear rise is 15.25" (as opposed to the nearly stated 16")
As I am sure you know, the key to getting the measurements dialed in with each fit is knowing where the pants sit on your body. I have a pair of 777 with 34.75 measurement that I cannot even get buttoned because they sit so low around the hip bones; however, this pair of 555 with a half inch smaller waist buttons right up.
The short answer to your question is my waist measurement is 34.5" so the pants are snug but not tight and they will break in to fit beautifully. The other reason I did not really consider the tag 33 in the 555 is that the knee measurement drops to 7.8 and I know that is just too tight for my personal comfort/taste.
The knee on these is around 8.25 and they taper to 7.75 at the hem. I had them hemmed to 31.5"
Sorry for the ramble but I hope that helps!

RE: IH-555S-21od - 21oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Jeans - Indigo Overdyed Black
I am super excited to have finally picked up a pair of these! I purchased them at Rivet & Hide and am blown away not only by the jeans but also by their amazing customer service. After emailing back and forth for a week, the guys found me the perfect sizing. The craziest thing is that I needed them hemmed and I placed the order yesterday. So basically they measured, hemmed, and shipped within 2 hours and I have the pants in hand, in the US, just 21.5 HOURS after I placed my order...unbelievable!!! I will post some fit pics this weekend!!!

RE: IH-555S-142bb - 14oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Tapered Jeans - Black/Black
I am sure that this has been asked and answered many times, but I can't seem to locate the answer...what is the main difference between the Black/Black bb version and the Super Black Fade to Grey SBG version of the 555? They both fade to grey, correct? Is the weight 21 vs 14 the main difference or will they wear in and fade in a substantially different way? Thanks!!!

RE: IH-526J - 21oz Selvedge Denim Type III - Indigo
@JunkPants Agreed...I am in the same boat...I had a Brave Star Gauntlet 22oz Ironside Type III dropped off today also...it is a gift for a family member but definitely didn't stop me from "inspecting" it and perhaps trying it on:)

RE: IH-526J - 21oz Selvedge Denim Type III - Indigo
@JunkPants I agree 100%...what I really notice is how much more streamlined and less bulky the unmodified version is. You don't realize how much volume and weight is created by the pocket bags until you handle this version...love it so far!
