ATTENTION!
The photo below is 16 OZ BLACK shirt that we recently released and it is from customer who washed the shirt before start wearing. White lines appeared after the first wash as you seen in the photo. The lines on the yoke is also from the washing.
To avoid this, I would like to suggest you not to wash when it's brand new. If you wash it right away, the fabric can not absorb enough water and it might even float on surface of water. That way, the shirt will hit the wall of washing machine more that creates unwanted lines on the shirt.
Give it a wash after you wear as long as possible to soften it up so it can absorb water that reduces the risk of having the lines. Also, very importantly, please wash it INSIDE OUT! It MUST BE! -
Major, major ouch. G is this why you put the mailed note with the shirt advising about not washing it, or did this customer wash it despite that note?
On another note, @beatle: LOL.

in my last life my name was George Washingmachine

I have used the following to successfully machine wash my 08. I have no bathtub and hand washing is too much work.
1. Turn the shirt inside-out.
2. Make the shirt wet.
3. Use a liquid vegetable soap (powder and flakes are more likely to leave residue.)
4. Wash on the gentle cycle.
5. Do not use the spin cycle (this is the most important).
6. After washing, use a towel to soak up the extra water.
7. Lie it flat on a clothes rack to dry. -
@SimonQ.:
after those pictures id put it in the washingmachine right away and hit 1400upm three times in a row. damn, that shirt looks good to me. am i sick? ;[

No, you're not. I kinda like the look, too. But I won't wash my old 08 in the machine, though
-
I chuck my SRs in the machine and let it spin all the time, but I'm afraid to wash my OG 08… Fades are one thing, but I want it to stay Steven Seagal black as much as possible. It's going to have to go in the tub.

I think I might shortly put half my collection of shirts up for sale since all I want to do is wear this one.
-
I paired this with my SEXIH07BKIII today and I was walking stiff arm all the way to work today. Love this shirt.
-
i'm scared of how this shirt will look all faded out. wish we could fast fwd & see

This shirt reminds me of my welding shirts I used to have. They were stiff tightly wound canvas (wonder if anyone knows) so they didn't flap or get caught anywhere, were thick enough to be spark impermeable (you'd get burns but just tatter spots never all the way through) fit close at the waist. We tucked them in which sucked (safety–one guy never did and his tails were so stiff he actually bent them under)--I'm a broad 42 and got my IHSH-08 xxl, perhaps could have gone xl but I will wear over heavier t- and want freedom of movement. I do a lot of physical work (when i work--someone kick me in the butt).
Ones i wore years ago are gone--dont know the weight but they were heavier than the 12oz canvas welders they sell now, which are still made nice and stiff...today the good welding shirts are stiff but much lighter because now they have this flame retardant stuff built in.Anyway, great shirt, takes me back and forward at the same time.
