pics a bit too small for me to appreciate them, but they look nice

@riffblaster:
Liked my other thorogoods so much I decided to give these a try. Thorogood for Steven Allan. Not the best pair of boots ever made but super comfy and will be a great pair of everyday shitkickers. Made in the USA and the
Price is nice. No complaints here.Been wearing these for a couple days and I am really digging them. They have the standard Thorogood foam footbed cushion and removable insole which makes them very comfortable for all day wear and being pretty active in them. They certainly aren't a work of art like a pair of White's or Tricker's but they have the classic Thorogood 685 work boot look and overall seem to be fairly rugged. I think these will see a ton of wear. The real surprise here was the Vibram Gumlite sole. I'd never tried one out before and I really dig it….great cushion but with a lug design that's very utilitarian and I'm totally sold on it. I think I found what I want to resole my iron rangers with.
The speedhooks could be seen as a blessing or a curse depending on your taste....i'm pretty back and forth on it.
Overall these get a thumbs up. I recommend them to anyone who wants a good everyday boot that will be a little easier on your knees and ankles that is made in the states.

Hey tiger check the first page of this thread for pics of my black wedge soled thorogoods.
The Steven Alan collabs are great. Perfect beater boot.

Was asked my opinion on these in the WAYWT shoes edition thread so I thought I'd post a couple more pics and a small review here.
I like these boots a lot! The leather is really nice and thick but soft and these boots were broken in the minute I put them on. They have a removable insole with some nice arch support and with the vibram wedge sole these things feel like running shoes, very very comfortable, and they aren't overly heavy. I like to wear 2 pairs of thick socks always so I went with my TTS which is 9US and they are perfect, however, if I wore one pair of socks I would have gone a half size down because they run aprox a half size big. They also come in different widths and I got EE and it's fine. I would say that these are comparable to Redwings, but the price is nicer, and they are made in the US. Just a good pair of everyday comfortable boots. Definitely happy with these and would recommend them. -
does thorogood not have a site
Gotta keep those margins low!
But from Google'ing around, this is probably their official site:

Rager,
Thorogood are just as good as Red Wing, imho, but half the price. Go to Hickorees or Genuine Motor Works in BK to try them on.

I always wanted a moc toe + vibram sole pair in EE, but it's hard to find for Red Wings. For $100~150 or whatever, I'll give em a shot for laughs.
Brass eyelets on black is a crime, but whatever…easy fix. Strangely, the brown ones (also pretty cool) have silver eyelets. What the hell.
