Thanks Snowy. During the video shoot a duck swam up to us a wanted food about a couple minutes after that was shot. Wish the footage came out better I would have added it into the video. The duck kept its distance as if it didn't want to on camera. Hehe

Can anyone walk me through how to take care of rough out leather?
Packed with my Vibergs was a jar of heavy duty leather preservative. It's a beeswax-esque substance.
Applying it to the boots with my fingers, my boots now have splotchy dark patches across each boot, more or less entirely coated.
Do I now just wait for them to dry for a certain time?
I read that you can use a hairdryer on them now, and then go over them with a wire brush.
Does that sound about right?

I asked this a while back and the accord was to leave em be. Since you already dubbed em, try this:

Thanks Mclain!
Morgan included some leather preservative with the boots, so I blame him for tempting me!
Either way I followed those instructions and it's worked well, I only gave a very light covering, so it's only slightly darker, the kind of dark I presume would happen after a bit of rain/wear and tear anyway.

Heh. He told me to just use spray from a local leather shop.
For the record, I think dubbed boots look rad. And they will do better should you wear em In the wet.

Yeah I'm sure spray is equally effective.
Thanks, I have to say when I first applied the preservative I freaked out, the preservative left marks exactly like this -
But after using the hairdryer and my hands to rub around the wax a bit, and then brushing, and wire brushing, they look good. Can't wait to wear them in some more, they fit beautifully.
That is asides from the bellows on the left foot, again something about my left foot means the bellows causes friction against my ankle where the bellows is sown onto the sides; the points where they fold in.
It doesn't hurt at the moment, but I'm concerned a few days straight of walking will cause pain.
Hopefully the tongue will just break in, it's really the only concern I have with the boot.

Sweet. I'm glad it worked out. I'll need to dub mine probably based on all the snow where I live.
