No Kipple

Pulled the trigger on a pair of Trophy Dirt Denim 1607's today. Looking forward to getting them.
Interesting and very positive customer service note - Jon sent an email in what seemed like seconds from the time I placed my order. He asked if I would like measurements performed on a sample number of the jeans they have in stock so that I could pick the pair that suited me the best. I thought this very cool.

Anesthesist, I'd get a 32, there's a decent amount of give in this fabric. It's loose weave.
I thought about it and I prob have to size up anyway due to the lengths. I asked Jon to double check the measurements and a couple pair for me. Maybe he will find a pair a little slimmer or longer than the rest

Update - after consulting with Jon on sizing, I'll be going with the 1605's instead. Note - this afternoon the sizing guides were updated on the 1607 and 1605. What you may have seen earlier this week is not the same. Literally, I pulled the trigger, Jon contacted me, he emailed me some measurements, jaw dropped, I double checked the sizing guide on the website and saw differences (Jon acknowledged the change). It changed A LOT for me in the thigh measurement. 1607 will be too narrow I think. And yes, I've asked for the measurement the "noKipple" way (3'' down from the crotch) and the "Iron Heart" way. All this said, Jon was extremely helpful, responsive, and apologetic for the sudden changes in the sizing guides. Excellent customer service in my opinion. At this point, I think the sizing guides are to be trusted given the "sanity" checks I had Jon go through.
Hopeful the 1605's will fit the way I am hoping for. :-\

I really like straight cuts and thought Mega's 05s looked great. Good move. Great to hear the boys are killing the service, but I can't say I'm in any way surprised on that score. let's see em when you get em!
-
Really? I'm referring to a pic he posted here somewhere. Didn't look narrow to me.
-
They're not that narrow. It's a slimmish straight cut (1966) and the other cut is a vintage straight (1944). The garage denim cut is somewhere in the middle. Garage denim is the raw unwashed version of the Dirt Denim (one washed). I believe both are loomstate denim, one is just washed.
-
Oh I thought garage was a tighter, flatter weave. Now I'm all confused. I haven't looked at the sizing at all but I love the way that dirt denim looks.

Make sure to open the original Japanese page (as the translated inernational page shows a product that has nothing to do with the title, except for 4 pictures of the black jeans).
edit: at least for me

Right. None the less, the product still exists…
Edit: here it is listed correctly.. http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/americaya/item/jagih-219-bk/

For a temporary break in silence I can tell you that these jeans (whilst looking extremely nice) are nothing to do with NoKipple and won;t be stocked by NoKipple. If you want a pair I would suggest speaking to Giles about availability

^Saw that pair mentioned a while ago on the IH West Branch blog (and then forgot about it):
