Any confirmation on this? I'm not sure I understand the advantages of such a policy. Non-posters don't present any more work for the mods and any access restrictions would limit exposure and information which would have a negative impact on sales.

Should have been more clear. Only certain "high value" threads will be accessible for registered users only. I don't have any more information, but I am sure details are forthcoming.
