Hard Drinkers, Lets Drink Hard (Spirits, Liquors and Cocktails)

I agree, noticed that too. Though I assumed it was a liter. It is an import. I wonder what Pappy or Stagg would run…

Import costs, plus heavy taxation on spirits equals much higher pricing man.

My pleasure, I am very happy to hear it. I am a huge Buffalo Trace Distillery fan and advocate. If you want to try a nice rye, if you see Sazerac around it's brilliant. It was hard to find for a while but should be available a bit more readily at a reasonable price point. It is a 6 year aged rye that is quite classic, spicy and very nice.
In fact, the Sazerac Company of New Orleans owns Buffalo Trace. Trace also makes a number of "antique collection" bourbons and ryes that are among the best available. They also are responsible for all the famed Pappy Van Winkle line. Best whiskey distillery by far in the US IMO.
The good thing about Buffalo Trace is that it's so damn delicious but it doesn't break the bank. It's usually in the same price range as Maker's Mark and a better spirit IMO.
Have a look: https://www.buffalotracedistillery.com/brands/buffalo-trace
Every damn one of those brands is excellent.

Has anyone else tried this?
They're new on the block and have an interesting story and method. Very clean. Best enjoyed neat.
They're only distributed in a few states, right now, but definitely worth the purchase if you stumble across it.
Well, given the longstanding distilling tradition in the NC mountains, it's gotta be good.

Where in NC are they? I'm from Charlotte, so I'm always curious about members with connections.

Says Bostic on the label.

It also says that it's distilled from malted barley. So we're looking at more of a Scotch than a bourbon style here I think. This hypothesis is also supported by the missing "e" in "whisky."

I was referring to sabergirl's parents.

I was a huge fan of Jeffersons Presidential Select 21 before I stopped drinking bourbon.
