Unpopular opinions
-
Not sure if this will constitute an unpopular opinion here or not. Hopefully not. Posted this on the WAYWT thread but thought it may be seen and commented on a bit more here.
"Must admit I haven't contributed much to the forum recently. I appreciate, and always will appreciate the respect shown here. But sometimes I think opinions are a little too restrained or non-existant(especially in the WAYWT threads). Bit of respectful honesty makes things a bit more interesting. I don't expect to like everyone's taste and vice-versa…but sometimes others may have a pertinent comment or suggestion to make and should be at liberty to do so without resorting to insults/mockery." -

Kilties are, in addition to being a tongue protector, allegedly to distribute pressure more evenly from the lacing.
I also dislike them.

In denim and work wear, you generally get what you pay for.

You'll be pleased to know, that for some of the retailer orders I have taken for 2 tone lace-ups the client has specifically requested kilties in both colours, so both can be worn at once….
You mean like one color on the right foot and the other on the left, or both kilties on each foot? I can't decide which would look more bizarre.
Probably would still look better than a pair of Chuck Taylors…

Wait, don't you wear Palladiums?

Both colours on the same foot…
That seems like it would really be uncomfortable- Wesco already has a tongue that needs to be folded over, so with the double kilties, that's 5 layers of leather under the laces.
-
The folded tongue has the added gusseting functionality of keeping water out; if it's a choice, I'd go that route.
-
choice,
Yep, we give you shit loads of that. With, without, with two, etc, etc etc…..

Exactly what I was thinking.

I can't fucking stand sushi. Finally came to that conclusion today at lunch. I just can't eat a cold lunch or dinner.

Sushi for breakfast?
