The Real McCoys

Thanks for the quick response Davito! You've got killer style, love seeing all the different looks! A+! I'm a US 44 normally, sorry don't know what that translates in Japanese sizing, but here, it is usually a typical Large. I've contacted SuperDenim via email to see if I could get actual measurments of their stock 44 and 46, but have not received any response, and it's been quite a long time…
I know this jacket is a slim fit, and that's fine, but I've been reading a lot about the upper arms being really tight, where if you have athletic arms, it's hard to fit...

@bigsak22:
I tried a 42 and a 44 (usually a XL in IH) and couldn't get it over my biceps. A 46 did fit over my arms but was to BIG in all other dimensions what is really pity as this is imo one of the best looking leather jackets of all!!!I am 187 cm about 87 kg and have a 41 cm biceps!;)
Enjoy ya addiction!

David is this the old fit in a 38 or the new fit? I've been eyeing the j-100 as well!
-
@grandmasterben Ben its from VMC order probably in late 2012 delivered in summer 13, I bought it in Aug 13. its the current jacket i suppose. There is a tea core model and a deep black. Def a killer jacket and complements your boots

I'm not sure how big my biceps are these days, but probably a couple of centimetres smaller than @Jordan23 's.
I tried on a couple of J100s at 14 Oz a few weeks back, they had it in a size 46 in plain and with padded shoulders and arms. The plain fitted OK, possibly a touch big through the chest and shoulders, however I'd have liked another inch in the sleeves. The padded version fitted better through my chest and shoulders, but was tight to the point of being painful in the arms.
If anyone is looking, 14 Oz currently have them at 30% off. Both of the J100s were €1289, but the padded model normally retails at a fair bit more than the plain version. It might actually be cheaper to buy it there than order from Japan…

My RMC J-100 fits trim/tight everywhere except the shoulders – the jacket has broad shoulders. If you have large biceps, you could have a problem.

So depressed… I received a measurement from Lewis at SD of the width of the bicep on a 44 he had in stock, 7 inches...x2 is 14 inches, and my upper arm is 14.5 inches...won't fit. That's crazy, the chest and shoulders would be perfect! I wish they could take the sleeves of a 46 and attach them to the 44...

Himel makes a similar jacket from the same Shinki HH. He might be able to modify the biceps.

Graeme, are you typically a size 44 or 46? I know you said the 46 plain was a tad big in the chest and shoulders, did you feel it looked big on you or would it suit you ok? If you don't mind, what is your dimensions? I'm actually in the US, wonder if 14oz would ship internationally???
-
I tend to sit between a size 44 and 46 in jackets, depending on the brand. My chest is about 44", but I'm relatively big in the shoulders. In IH, I'm typically an XXL.
I think that the 46 would work, and is the size I'd go for if I was getting an RMC jacket. If you're worried about fit then get the padded model.
No idea if 14 oz would ship overseas. It might be worth dropping them an email to ask.
-
@bigsak22 If you're in Europe then give 14 oz a shout. As I said earlier they had 30% off the RMC J100 a couple of weeks back.
Provided you don't live on a diet of steroids and spinach, you'll probably be OK with the arms on the plain version. The padded jacket was a bit snug there.
They claim that double rider is made of Cordovan. What a turn-off.
-
Agreed.
That model looks really dumb too. I'll never get the clean and conservative haircut with face tattoos look.
-
I received a Real McCoys M-65 overdyed black a couple of weeks ago, and I have been living in it ever since. Great jacket.
-
Very cool coat. The overdye is a great change that still retains the classic look!
My bucos are lookin realllll nice.
