Personally I prefer a vintage trim fit in mine, wear my usual small in the heavy Ballpark hoodie, washed it full spin several times 30 celsius and it molded nicely. I dont tumble dry. Some like it bit oversized some snug. Is yours the Ballpark or the lighter sporting goods, sorry cant see? @nizzel55 it will shrink a bit but the sweats do stretch also where necessary. In the end up to you if you go slightly oversized or a bit trimmer, both looks can be worn nicely. I would go snugger personally. I assume Large is your usual size in IH tops and you took SG xl due to the indigo overdye shrinkage (which measured like a L)?

Sorry, can't see the Pictures at work. My Ballpark hoodie felt too big at first, too but I've come to like it that way. A hoodie should be on the looser side, if in doubt. Some shrinkage might occur and I also think that most clothes look better when they've molded to your body.

I'd just blast away in the washer and dryer on high heat and see what that does.

The Grey one Looks awesome.
-
^ Echoing prior comments, I think one size smaller would be a better fit.
-
Yeah, you need a size smaller if you think it's to big.
Also that indigo would've been perfect after stretch, it's a shame! Mine is looking amazing at this point.
-
Personally, I like the fit on you. It looks comfortable and allows for layering. If you size down, are you selling this one? Let me know if you do.
-
Wait are those sleeves cuffed too? And they're still too long. Need a size down for sure
-
I would wash it and tumble to get some
Shrink rather than sizing down. -
its not about sizing down imho. @nizzel55 tts is a large as I understand. he had a SG indigo over dyed XL (which was measured a Large maybe smaller due to the shrinkage process from factory). I would say he upsized now from his regular L to an XL which might work when you like wearing oversized sweaters. The sweat will shrink thats correct but it will also stretch out again as well depending how much you stress the fabric. I don't know how much it shrank when I washed it but it stretched out to a comfort fit still slim as you see on my pic. I don't know how much it shrinks in tumble dry, maybe @Max Power has an input here.
Have you checked out BiG measurements for it? then you could get a good indication sizewise.
I have a friend who took the medium he is small size like me, he tried to be happy with it and gave it to a another friend in the end because he was not happy with the overall fit. he is still sad not getting a small from the beginning but he is patiently waiting for a small now. Again we both like it on the slimmer in this specific ballpark hoodie.
good luck nizzel with your decision its a great sweat and different people like wearing a sweat differently.
maybe you'll get that extra keeping it between an L and XL with a hot wash and a tumble dry and you could be fine with that XL like some said. sorry not to be of better help

just want to add that the L ballpark will probably fit approx the same as the SG XL you had around chest area @nizzel55
and just measured P2P in my small ballpark hoodie which is actually more or less 51cm (20") so I had about 1.5-2" stretch compared to BiG measurements (keep in mind I washed it, always 30 Celsius full spin) and this is a slim fit on me under armpits
I have a Ballpark Party going on
-
@davito nice collection! I have the ball park crew neck, the loopwheel crew neck and a couple of the midweight raglan sleeve crew neck, and I think the ball park is the best all around in terms of fit and fabric.
@nizzel55 You could wash and dry it for a little shrinkage but those are pre-washed so not going to shrink a ton. Just depends how you want to wear it. Go for size large if you want slimmer fit and want to layer the sweat under other stuff. Can't really go wrong either way in my opinion.
