Hard Drinkers, Lets Drink Hard (Spirits, Liquors and Cocktails)

The Spirit of Hven Organic Gin is a very nice, locally made gin that I love drinking. Fragrant and you kinda don't wanna stop drinking it..
Love the Erlenmeyer flask bottle, great packaging.

BQE liquors say they are getting it back in stock in like a week.
I ended up finding a bottle at DOCS close to Broadway and Bedford.

nice ill keep it in mind. BQE liquors has some of the sickest prices i've seen in the city.

I'll have to check that place out. DOCs had Blantons for $58+tax.
-
i walked out with a bottle of 4roses single barrel, noahs mill, hibiki 12 and oban 14 distillers for 212 plus tax
-

I've only been able to find the 'entry level' four roses here in Australia, but it's pretty damn delicious so I'm not complaining. It's been hotter'n hell here for the last couple months so my jam has been less single malt, more chilled bourbon of late. Elijah Craig, 15 mins in the freezer - absolutely A+ when it's 9pm and still 30°C

I'm not surprised to learn that Blanton's has become so popular. It's been my "go-to" for 5+ years. Great bourbon; especially for the price.
I've seen it in a lot of films in the past couple years. Recently, GONE GIRL and JOHN WICK.
Saw it in Justified a few episodes ago.
I actually found it at a Wine shop a few blocks away that I didn't realize sold spirits. That was the 8th shop I'd been to though.
Now, per Der666's recommendation, I'm looking for one of the Jefferson Presidential Select bottles. I think they have released a 21, 23 and 25 year.
Let us know how the Jefferson select fairs. Their single malt is a pretty tasty mash, so I would certainly be interested in those aged offerings.

So which is best: Blantons, Blantons special reserve green, Gold edition, or Straight from the barrel?..
This is the choice I have:

If it was good enough for Faulkner, its good enough for us all.

@Seul - i would recommend staying away from the green 'special reserve'. Slightly too harsh/ unrefined for the price. The original/ private reserve (thats about 25% more expensive) is a world away in flavour! A lot like a Booker Noe that doesn't need a bunch of dilution to open up properly.
@Giles Thanks! Long time no speaky!

got a bottle of the templeton rye, pretty good stuff

I've had Special Reserve Green, and it's not that great compared to Blanton's. The Green is watered down to 40% abv. Not worth it in my opinion.

Endless diversion

Great mezcal, the cypress makes it very unusual.
Also anyone wanting to explore mezcal should be sure to pick up the Bible.

Great bottle. One of the Del Magueys is from that village.
