The Flat Head

The old 7012W is exactly what you want if you're slim with long arms.
-
Smells a bit like old paper and vintage fabric even after several washes @grandmasterben
Didn't really notice it before you brought it up - really cool olfactory detail: even the smell of this fabric has character [emoji4]@mental floss the cut can be quite unforgiving. It seems best suited for slim gents with narrow waist and hips and flat belly IMO
VS my size in IH Westerns, i noticed the following:
Much broader shoulders
Slightly tighter chest
Much tighter waist and opening (typically the deal-breaker for many)
Similar arm length- shoulders have an extra 1" which helps the arms length without looking too dropping/low from the shoulders.I wear an S in most IHSHs and a 38 in this. Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot, @grandmasterben @zatenm @Snowy !
Hmm, if I'm XL in IH, would that mean 44 or 46 in FH?
-
New wabash is same pattern but fit is way different.
Firstly the 7014 is really slim for the size. Slimmer than flat head shirts usually are… The body length is shorter, with a smaller shoulder and sleeve, and really slim torso and chest.
I'd recommend going for the 7014wr, which I have. It fits like a normal flat head shirt in the size, I took the same size as my tight fit flat head tees and perfect shirts, and the 7014WR and its perfect.
The 7014 has wacker buttons though, they are plastic instead of the amazing steel powder coated ones in the 7012. But I'm going through Danny to get some old buttons even though they are hella expensive.
If helpful, I could throw up a pic of new wabash, and my flat head tees!

I am usually an L in IH and 40R in US sizing, and I have a 44 in the 7012. It's not a perfect fit, sleeves are a bit long, but the weird sizing forced that choice. Happy with it.

I have ordered the 7014w from the SS15 collection. I am having them made to the same sizing specifications as the 7012w Wabash from 2012.

Mental Floss, if you want slim with long arms then skip the wabash and get the 7002W denim western shirt instead. It's got the longest arms of any FH shirt I've worn, the cut is perfect for a tall slim guy like myself. And this is totally subjective but I think the design is way cooler than the wabash shirt anyway.
-
You're crazy Kyle!
The wabash has no equal
It gets some of most compliments out of any shirt I have. I can't wait to see it age!
-
I have the 7009W (size 42), great fit and a great shirt but unfortunately it has the plastic buttons.
-
Wow, that's an old shirt!
From what I can tell, it seems the 7014 and the 7009 have a similar cut. But I have no clue why they reverted to the old buttons, I'd be really interested to know.
I would say the 7012 buttons are my favorite I've seen on a shirt…ever.

Thanks, @Cold Summer. I always appreciate sizing tips, especially cool shirts with a snug fit (and sleeves still long enough) are hard to find for me.
I also like the 7002 but to me the Wabash is something special in terms of design. I really like the pockets! If the sizing works for me I will probably go for it.
@grandmasterben Yeah, to have a look at the new wabash would be nice, if you have a pic available!

I am apparently the only person on the planet who doesn't like the wabash shirt very much… but I've never been much of a fan of the really workwear-looking designs anyway.

@Cold Summer Wabash looks closer to a suit pin-strip than anything else to me. Yes I know it's roots, but what it looks like to me is classy
-
I don't know a thing about workwear, just that I love how the wabash looks…and I doubt anyone else on the street would associate it with anything but a dope looking shirt.
Here you go @mental floss … the best I could do!
They are both a size 40, the thc shirt is slim but fits exactly how I like my shirts to fit.
And the 7014WR…

Cool, thanks!
