That came unexprected early. I reconed with the usual 17:00 brit time and now I'm trapped with the workstation pile of junk in my office, that is nerfed back into the 80s by our IT guys, so I could not proceed from my basket to paying.
Thank god I didn't forget my smartphone at home.
Got 2! You know, you have to wash you towel from time to time and need a replacement or, god forbid, the wife want's one too.

How do you get these things to stop shedding? There was a bit of shedding out of the box and now even more after a wash.
Also, the sticker on the towel recommended to wash it at 40deg on the delicate cycle. Will washing them more aggressively somehow damage them?

@DrPat I asked the question when I was in Japan, they were sort of mystified. After me explaining a number of times, they suggested just wash more, the lint will stop shedding at some point. They think a hotter wash would be OK.
Thanks for looking into this.
I washed the towel 5 times. There is still some shedding but the amount has significantly decreased. Hopefully it will be gone after a few more washed.

Any feedback yet on how these are holding up?
No idea about the weight of the cotton but they are fat, heavy and soft without being too fluffy. They fold beautifully.

They are not particularly heavy, that is not how the Japanese measure the quality of a towel.

They are not particularly heavy
I currently have one small and one medium size imabari towel which are both light weight (but super absorbent) when compared to the usual heavy hotel towels, I think I have a good idea of what you mean, thanks.
Going a little off topic and more of a wish list: I would love to see some IH shorts, t-shirts, hoodies et al. made from this material!
One thing they certainly are is super absorbent and surprisingly quick to dry.
This is the quality I like with the imabari towels I have, it's good to know it's replicated in the larger size towel, thanks.
