IHSH-166 - Superblack 12oz Selvedge Denim CPO Style Western
-
In the superblack western and workshirt threads I've found the following info regarding shrinkage. It would be great if some people who bought this shirt could contribute a few more data points.
Western (IHSH-85) washed at 60deg
P2P: -0.55in
Shoulders: -0.75in
Length:-1.26in
Arm: -0.87inWorkshirt (IHSH-95) washed at 30deg
P2P: -0.2in
Shoulders: -0.6in
Length: -0.5in
Arm: -1.0in -
Given the potential shrinkage I'm debating my usual XXL or going to the XXXL to accommodate the shoulder width. Given that these were made "slightly oversize" I was hoping the XXL would have extra room in the shoulders since all the other measurements look good.
@neph93 , based on your experience with the 85 did it stretch back out at all? I'm thinking the XXXL may be my only option to fit the shoulders with a little room so I can try to shrink down all the other dimensions.
I documented my experiences with the ´85. Same denim. Here's the post:
http://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=5354.msg364686#msg364686Long story short shrinks about half a size with a 60C low rpm wash.

I didn't really look for stretch but neither have I noticed any so I'm going to say no. I wore mine the other day after it's fifth or sixth wash and was thinking how it fits like a regular XL now, so there's a chance it shrinks incrementally after the initial wash. Some shirts do this. I should measure it again…
If you want my tuppence, decide how you want to wear this and buy accordingly. BIG CPO's are really versatile, so if you want to wear it as a shacket, over layers, etc. go big. If you're getting it as a shirt stick to XXL.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm waiting to hear back on measurements and will then make the call. Regardless the precious will be mine!

Well lucky me… @Lindsey found an XXL with shoulders just over 20" so it's all good in da hood.

Wondering about sizing on this one. @Giles I read you wear XL. Is this with layering in mind?
Does size L fit you for wearing over t-shirts only? -
Thanks. So that would mean XL is the way to go for me…
Slight shrinkage was to be expected. They are made slightly oversized to compensate
But measurements are "as is" right? So this "slightly oversized" is also included in the measurements…
