PIH5DCS - 25oz Indigo/Indigo Selvedge Denim Slim Cut
-
Hi everyone… @Joephoto just sold me his PIH5DCS. They haven't seen water. They currently sit at 35" Inseam, I eventually want a 33" Inseam... What's everyone's recommendation for these?... Get any shrink out of the way, wear them a bit to get the creases set, then hem?
Really interested to hear if these shrink like the regular 25oz.

@Mnbiker Great score!!
IMO if you want them hemmed, get it done. I didn't get any shrink in the inseam on mine after a cold soak and this fabric takes a fair amount of wear before you're going to get any noticeable crease below the knees, if that's what you're after. My pair are just starting to stack proper around the ankles after 6ish months of intermittent wear. I didn't hem mine.
No matter what, you picked a great pair to rock!

I was and dry my jeans freely,so I had them hemmed accordingly. I haven’t measured, but I’m guessing I got about an inch shrinkage in the length, and they’re absolutely perfect for me. If you don’t plan on washing and or putting them into a drier then you can just have them hemmed and allow a little for when the combs form. I think Giles once said about half an inch.

I bet these bleed just as fast as my 666sii's!..
They do bleed…and there is A LOT of blue in them. Mine are still bleeding after months of use. But I have only cold soaked them once prior to wear, so I guess that can be expected with an indigo this deep.
Get us some pics once you have them soaked and hemmed!

Hi everyone,
I’m considering buying these jeans, but have never had such heavy weight denim :o - what’s the consensus in terms of sizing? Size up (and if so how much)…or not?
Thanks

I would stick with the size you normally go for (actual rather than tag). The denim will still stretch as much, and I found these to break in very easily. This denim will shrink a touch, so I would look for a starting waist size more or less where you want to end up, or 1/4-1/2'' smaller

^truth I love this denim. It breaks in very fast and is super soft. While it is good that I’ve lost a lot of weight. I am depressed that I can no longer wear my size 42 in these. Hopefully I can score ten
Approepte size one day soon -
I sort of with I had sized up one, because my pair is tight, which is hard with such heavy denim. I also gave them a preliminary hot soak with a little bit of agitation, but have been scared to put them in the machine like I normally would, because they fit like a glove. However, if you are okay with treating your denim as extra special and soaking and line-drying and all that, you'll be fine true to size. I have the tapered cut, not this one, btw

Is there some type of filter on in this photo? The denim looks like the normal 25oz color.

Wow. They look great.

@fanya @Vagrant I saw your posts in the DWC thread but didn't want to derail it with my questions… your pairs appear to be the most worn out of all of them, plus @gosha above…
So I was wondering did your pairs soften up like the typical 25oz XHS does? I'm sure Fanya knows what I mean...
I have been wearing mine the past week and they seem so rough and not soft, and I am debating on whether I should keep wearing them or keep on with my 888s. They might just be rougher than usual because I soaked the fuck out of them and every pair of 25oz XHS I have had before I wore raw for at least 6 to 8 months before they saw any water at all.
I like these because of the weight. But the hand does not seem as soft. But then again I am borderline brain dead, so I could be mis- remembering how the 25oz denim feels. I love the fit of the 888s but it is cold as hell outside and the 25 oz is way warmer... so it is a toss up. It sucks because both pairs are so nice I feel like I can't commit to either or and I keep going back to just wearing my overalls anyway. But people remark at how I wear them every day so i need to wear something else.
